Fines for empty seats
Spain’s La Liga plan to fine clubs that allow empty seats to be shown on television next season in a bid to rival the Premier League.
Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, says new regulations will require top-tier clubs to fill sections of the stadium which are shown by certain camera angles.
Attempting to improve his product for TV audiences, Javier Tebas insisted clubs will have to allocate fans in the right seats in order to avoid fines.
The current Spanish TV deal is not worth half as much as the £5.136bn deal the Premier League signed in 2015.
