' Trollope Over to You,Even Tan Wants it '

Bring through home-grown talent

BY PAUL ABBANDONATO

Thursday 19th May 2016

It is a Tan mantra, from here on in, that local youngsters have to be given the chance by the Bluebirds boss.

Memories of Nathan Blake, Jason Perry and Damon Searle under Eddie May. More recently, James Collins, Rob Earnshaw, Joe Ledley, Aaron Ramsey.

Slade took his Cardiff team in the opposite direction, even ostracising popular left-back Declan John who had played in the Premier League, but was rated a worse player than Scott Malone by Slade? A decision that baffled many.

There s nothing like watching local youngsters in the side to get the fires burning amongst Bluebirds fans. It is what helped make the May era of the 1990s so magical.

Because of his involvement with the Wales coaching staff, Trollope knows the Welsh age-grade set-up well and which players to target.

At least developing the best local talent offers hope for the future.

we are 24 hours after the announcement and whilst the initial reaction of the people was negative, I think we are all coming round to the idea that maybe this is just the appointment that was needed. We are want to see the best of available Welsh talent in a city shirt. SO LETS JUST GO FOR IT

I don't care if the youngsters are Welsh, English or from Outer Mongolia!

Let's get some god ones through and let's get them in the first team squad!

Annis, it's all very well that the fans and press are calling for the club to use young local talent, (by the way, i'm all for it as well) but as of this moment we have very few if any youngsters who could hold their own at the top end of the championship if that is where we intend to be.

Yeah but there's nothing like seeing local lads coming through. Was great watching earnie, Ramsey, Ledley etc. It adds something extra. I feel with how well Wales are doing we were neglecting our welsh youth under slade
