The youth coach that doesn't want to.....

Thu May 19, 2016 11:35 am

coach youth footballers

Before I write this, I am a bit surprised this has not been touched upon, so I guess i'll do it.

We have a newly appointed youth coach? (I guess that's the new role outside of 1st team duties) who's ambition was to become a manager or work with the first team. The new appt in the restructure makes a mockery of the new 'Head of Football' position as surely nobody could argue this is progressive restructuring?

One can assume he did not want to become a dedicated professional in the field of youth development, hence, the progression to first team duties. I don't understand what is the point of the Head of Football if decisions on football are made above his head!

Slade surely can't of green lighted this move? Successful youth development structures have very good coaching, when I was growing up we had an excellent record in this dept, the Euro 2016 squad says it all in regards to Cardiff City Academy graduates being called up.

I am not being horrible but frank about the next bit. The club does not owe him a living for his playing dedication and loyal service. That time is over and now the judgement is based on results in development of young players.

I salute the past unsung heroes of the youth development for the successes they had in my time growing up with the club :ayatollah:
