Trollope to ignite a Welsh revival at Cardiff City?

Wed May 18, 2016 6:51 pm

My Optimistic View on Paul Trollope:

I think this could be a good appointment. His Wales contacts are great, the players in the Welsh squad rate him very highly... Now Wales are back competing on the major international scene, young Welsh players will want to be in the shop window and what better place to do that than the home of Welsh football?

Exciting Welsh Talent is There for the Taking

Players like Johnny Williams, Tom Bradshaw, Tom Lawrence, HRK and perhaps even people like Emyr Huws and Adam Matthews (if Fabio is flogged) could be available to us and surely Paul will want to use his close relationship with these boys to his advantage. I reckon a team like this next season would have enormous potential:

Marshall/Moore
Fabio/Peltier - Connolly/Deji - Morrison/Turner (or new player) John/Malone

Lawrence/Harris - Huws/O'Sullivan - Ralls/O'Keefe - Pilkington/Joniesta

Immers/HRK

Watt(would love us to resign him)[/ Bradshaw

Now to me that would be an exhilarating squad of players, with plenty of players I could relate to and could really have a strong understanding together.
I also think that would be stronger than the squad we have this season and would run through brick walls...

I have always felt we should become more Welsh player-based, a bit toward the Athletic Bilbao way of doing things... It can be done! Exciting times ahead...!

And don't forget, we've signed LEX IMMERS!!! If he didn't see that the club had ambition he wouldn't have joined the club, there's no doubt about that. So let's get behind the new manager, give him a chance. His time at the Euro's can be wisely used to tap-up the above players! 8-) 8-) 8-) It's no bad thing he's with the Welsh squad, he'll also have his own backroom orchestrating things whilst he's away, and to his, not Russell Slade's liking!

Opinions? Or is my optimistic feeling not shared?

I agree with you trollope working with welsh squad can only help us. He knows the talented players there and if he thinks any of them are good enough then hes in a perfect position to get them here.

But in my opinion where the welsh players are options i think there are better players out there id like trollope to go for. Some really good players in league 1 and 2 id like to see trollope go for.

Tom Lawrence, Johnny Williams and Emyr Huws are average Championship players at best.

I don't care if our players are Welsh or not, let's just hope Trollope can ignite some sort of revival!

Rubbish team. Forget targeting welsh players, target quality players. We already have a good squad just need some flair upfront.
