THE POINT IS BEING MISSED

Wed May 18, 2016 3:22 pm

I will of course give Paul Trollope my full support, but I think the point is being missed here. The club has lost a lot of fans through bad management and in recent months have tried everything to get them back (free tickets, back to blue, good value season tickets) and I applaud them for that, but the biggest barrier was the manager.

Once it was announced he was leaving, you could tell the excitement amongst fans was back and we needed a good name with good experience in a promotion challenge, Neil Warnock for example who have got fans back. Trollope, rightly or wrongly, will not excite fans. If he gets us promoted, of course the fans will come back so in the long term this could be fantastic, but in the short term we needed an appointment to get the fans back at the stadium.

Let's all support Trollope but I can't help but feel we've missed a great opportunity here to get the fans back.....

I would have Trollope over Warnock every time. Cannot understand why fans get to excited about the ex Sheff Utd and QPR man.

Warnock was more of an example really mate, just because not many others were discussed in as much detail as him. I've got my season ticket and I'm still excited for next season, and part of me thinks sod the fans who turn away because of this, but surely the club wouldn't have this attitude? They'd want as many fans as possible....

How many thousands were people expected to rejoin if had young up and coming manager? Same as return to blue maybe? Sure there will be some excuse not to renew! Besides would have given new man 10 games before he would be slated on here for some reason, Trollope already seen problems so better for club. :old:

'garenteed promotion' according to many if Warnock came. yet he's had 2 promotions in the last ten years...

The fans wanted a young ambitious manager who could bring a different style of football

Trollope is 43 young in manager terms, already mentioned he's keen to adapt a new style, has already started shaping his back room team

He's been promoted as a manager with Bristol rovers so proven he can get a team up

Knows the players well already and probably has already decided who stays and who goes bar any players he's told has to go wage wise

Why anyone would want Colin wanker I'll never know

I'm actually going to get my season ticket next year again I honestly think Trollope could be a good move
