Neil Warnock Leaves Rotherham United

Good manager for an ambitious championship club, wonder where he will go

Rotherham United manager Neil Warnock has left the club after securing their Championship status this season.

BBC

Wednesday 18th May 2016

Warnock, 67, was appointed manager until the end of the season in February after Neil Redfearn was sacked.

The Millers were in the relegation zone when Warnock arrived but they finished in 21st place.

A club statement read: "We would like to place on record our thanks to Neil and his support staff for the 16 games that they led the team for."

Rotherham have held talks with Warnock over the past fortnight, but the former Sheffield United boss, along with assistant manager Kevin Blackwell and Ronnie Jepson have all departed.

The Millers won six and drew six of their 16 league games under Warnock - including an 11-game unbeaten run - which saw them finish nine points clear of the relegation zone.

The club have said they will appoint a new manager - their fourth in eight months - in due course.

Just saw him coming out of the Cathedral School in Llandaff, he had his grandson with him and said he is going to be part of Trollope's backroom team :notworthy:

Is he that good ? Talking as if we missed out on a master mind

He managed Rotherham which a good manager wouldn't see as a good job didn't do much with Leeds

The mistake was made when tony pulis came knocking

I think people are writing Trollope off before he starts
He's got a great opportunity now and I hope he takes it, 100 percent behind him :ayatollah:

Trollope is our manager and one of us now lets support him. Warnock coming her wouldn't guarantee promotion neither would others that have been named

I know people think just because it's trollope we are doomed! Who's to say how any other manager could cope managing a club undergoing transformation like ours? Would they fair better or would they garauntee promotion no matter who they are? I don't think so :old:

Choo dalman and tan no experience in football matters. This is why we will always be a mid table championship team .

Initially I thought Warnock would be a good choice although everyone seemed a good choice after Slade.

But really I've never liked Warnock, he did brilliantly at Rotherham but he has only taken two clubs up in a lot of seasons.

Trollope wasn't my choice but I can see the reasoning and will give him the same chance I gave Slade.

I think most of us city fans were looking for something exciting after a dull end to the season, Warnock would not have guaranteed city promotion, but would have got the fans pumped up and shown some passion. With the appointment of Trollope it feels like nothing changed from last season. Will still support Trollope regardless, but feel this was an opportunity missed.

I think warlock is more similar to slade in his way.

Trollope will be his own man, I don't expect it to be anything like last season.

Like it or not it's about getting supporters to part with their hard earned cash. Will this appointment appease the majority of the fans, I doubt it. I know the most important factor here is making us debt free but what division will we be in? I would have liked to have seen a clean break from last season's management team but again finances control the situation. We now have to give our new manager our support and hope we don't have a repeat of the majority of last season.. This is Cardiff City so watch this space. :ayatollah:

Your probably right about the similar style of football, would just be nice to have a manager that the fans can relate to though and Show some passion. Hopefully Trollope will bring his own style and we can all get behind him. :ayatollah:

:laughing6: well I suppose I might have exaggerated it a slight bit but you get the drift, a reasonable premiership number two who failed as a Manager (and took Balckburn down) against two proven Managers........
