A forum for all things Cardiff City

Cardiff City are close to revealing the identity of their new boss, with current coach Paul Trollope still the overwhelming favourite for the role.
But you never know there were three other candidates and Trollope might not just want the job?
City are expected to make an announcement with in the next 48 hours and it could even be today.
City have not interviewed 18 candidates like the media have put out.

Paul Trollope with Rowberry as assistant manager would not be terrible but I'd rather we gave it to a younger candidate. Not a fan of these calls for Warnock. We want more than a man who might get us up but then almost certainly won't keep us there. I'd like to see an emphasis on youth across the club. Let's build something long term.

I'm really going to be disappointed if it is Trollope! His record with Bristol rovers was pretty poor!

I hope it's Clement or Rowberry to be honest

Let's go for a really fresh new management team, This would be a good untested team
Trollope assisted by maybe Slade upstairs
Oh hang on, we may have already tried that team over the past few seasons
If that doesn't work we can always change it again it 2 years to maybe
Rowburry assisted by Trollope upstairs
VT and CCFC the team that just keep on giving

Whoever the new manager is and whenever the announcement is made one thing you can be absolutely sure of he will be the CHEAPEST option.
Call it austerity, common sense or yet another "Business Decision" to control spending I think cost ahead of quality and experience has been the main driver in this process. If you pay "Peanuts" what do you get?
I really really hope the club prove me wrong here but I'm not holding my breath.

Your 100% correct here.
The club will go for the cheap option every time.
Tan will just want somebody that can retain our championship status, for as little outlay on players and management team as possible, until he can eventually off load what he sees as a massive blue albatross on his back

His record here isn't bad.Christ, you can do better than forming an opinion based on one thread on a Bristol Rovers forum(spit)surely.

If your looking for a cheap option to hopefully keep us in the championship, then trollopes your man

if Tan wants to retain championship status on the cheap, why move Slade upstairs, are you suggesting he is bringing in someone on an even smaller salary than Slade, who, for all of his faults, would surely maintain our status with the squad that he has. I think it is more a change of ethos to build using the youth over a 3- 4 year period with a young manager at the helm, I think Rowberry is still in with a shout of being in the mix.

Slade was fed up with the hassle. Trollope is already there on the payroll. It costs the club no more than they are paying now, and Trollope/Slade will keep us up ...... Hopefully
