Do you trust the Club in making the right decision?

Tue May 17, 2016 12:09 pm

From all this 'who do we want as manager' debate I feel the real issue seems to be that none of us have faith in the club officials and executives to make the right call for the club. And no one can be blamed for doubting them as what has happened with past decisions made by them. When you look at other clubs such as our friends down the road they have made some big, risky calls when it comes to managers (Martinez, Sousa, Laudrup) but all have taken them to the next level because of trust and faith. Our problem is we just dont trust the men behind the scenes to make the correct call.

This is the issue with City atm, no one still trusts Tan. Its all just about money saving and not taking the club forward.I hope whoever comes in is the right decision in moving the club to another level and is backed financially and isnt just a cheap shot in the dark praying that our numbers come up.

spot on mate i think we will see in the next week what direction tan intends to take the club going forward, personally i think this is why so many are worried about trollope being handed the reins it just cries out lack of ambition with the available managers out there we are looking at another untried and untested manager at the highest level or even at championship level

Not one bit! If Trollope gets the job, then it shows the club are continuing to take the cheap option. I'll back Trollope 100%, but I believe we'll be towards the bottom of the table, rather than the top

The club are not making the best decision for the club, the club are making the best decision for Vincent Tan. He needs a yes man in charge whether that man is actually qualified/experienced or not. So no, I don't trust the club to make the right decision.

No, they chose Ole when Pullis was available and chose Slade when Chris Houghton wanted the job! Tan listens to the wrong people.

Not exactly got a great track record appointing the right manager or signing players these last few years have we? A resounding no to trusting the owner and the board of Cardiff City!!

NO. The most important factor to the club at the moment seems to be money. There is no evidence of any ambition I.e. Appointing an experienced manager at this level or making any decent signings.

I hope that the club prove me wrong but based on the last 18 months the club is being run on a shoestring. Appreciate that we had strikers out on loan but if we had a decent striker for the second half of the season then we would have made the plays offs.

Probably not but then fans always think they know best even though very few agree and then it's always someone else's fault.

Ambition to me would be making sure we aren't in further debt.

Ambition is keeping our best players, spending Vinnie's billions on ace signings and appointing Tim Sherwood or Paul Clement.

Exactly football is not a complicated game, get the best Manager you can afford, that has the experience you need and then let them do there job Ito f*cking simple, why can't Billionaire businessmen grasp it !!!

YES sorry to buck trend but I think the board got it spot on 2 years ago when the appointed Slade as he has;

Reduced the playing squad
Reduced the wage bill
Kept us competitive in the Championship

And now they are looking for a new manager to take us forward.

Hence since the premier season disaster I feel the club are doing the right thing

Queue abuse from the Slade haters... :bluebird:

I can see (from Tan's point of view) why he would like to promote from within, as it would give a certain continuity with the current squad and that = financial savings on the transfer wants of an outsider

However, I think that if that point was put cross to any of the serious interviewees then they would either accept the situation or decline it

Seeing as we are after a Head Coach and not a Manager, I think those (alleged) three 'outsiders' who have been put on the short-list with Paul Trollope should be in with a fighting chance

Unconfirmed word is that one particular candidate (no name was mentioned :( ) impressed so much that the men on the ground (Dalman and Choo) are trying to persuade Vincent Tan that is the way to go

That (if true) is interesting indeed and we wait to see the outcome ;)

I'm pretty confident that most of you will be proved wrong by the end of next season.

Just like those that predicted relegation or mid table mediocrity this season!

Only way tan would get it right was if he had Hugh Jenkins sit in on the interviews
