Why are we the only club who are on the lookout for a new manager and we are set to appoint the same management team that failed last season
We are becoming a joke
Tue May 17, 2016 5:49 am
I suppose that's what the delay in naming him is all about.

omg nooooo what a joke if true

He hasn't even started the job yet and he is being slaughtered by some already.

Exactly, there's a wonder anyone would want the job with some of our lot.
If it is Trollope then I hope he doesn't lose the first 2/3 because some our lot will be calling for his head.

whats the difference slade / Trollope or Trollope / slade, we all know we needed a fresh start now is the chance

Don't think it is a case of calling for his head, just more of what the hell, as Slade gets moved from his role for not making the playoffs, then we look to bring in guy who has only been the boss at Rovers, unless I am wrong who has not managed outside of league 1, and I think got the sack from Rovers too.
point being, how this this any better! think most fans thought Slade did not quite make the grade, so a manger with at least a track record in the championship would be offered the job, I will support Trollope, as I did Slade, but the club can not expect to make the playoffs in a very very hard league to get out of, with mangers that have never managed in it, or with little investment. just my view though guys

If it is going to be Trollope I wonder who will be his number 2, I hope that he gets someone with experience. I liked Scott Young as a player but I don't rate him as a number 2. Maybe he can still have a role in the academy.

IF THERE WAS A CHOICE OF TWO rated in the Wales set up For City Manager
Kit Symons or Paul Trollope
Who would you choose?
I wonder if Sean Dyche had this shite from Watford fans when replacing Malky at Watford from within.
This is a results and entertainment business, so I will have to call judgement after 10 games, and not before.
Malky - boring entertainment
OSG - unrealistic
Slade - dire
lets see what happens next....

But he has already been part of failure ?

For fucks sake. He was coach last year and after his appointment we looked fitter and more organised after the shambles ole left us in.
Slade was manager and picked the team and tactics.
Trollope wasnt making the big decisions last year but made a difference when he was appointed coach.
Hopefully he will bring in that osian roberts fella if symons gets the wales job.
Best of luck to trollope, hes going to need it on this forum

Well only time will tell
Lets see how many bums will be on seats in August
Remember its a business - giving away 20k free tickets will not make us a success
We need to appoint a proven Championship manager to get the fans back - Lets be honest Trollope is very uninspiring

my thoughts exactly, the club has an opportunity to show a signal of intent and get fans excited for the new season with a summer of transfers and optimism but this is going to burst fans bubbles and will surely mean we have another season of being disappointingly left behind by the pack,my worry is we are already lacking behind the top teams in this league whats gna happen next yr if things start going badly early on? another season wrote off?

Trollope, will be given a chance.. IF he gets the job, but most people are making the point, he is not the right man for the job, based on his record at Rovers, and not been a manger at this level, so where is the sense in giving him the job. I must say I see a lot of the fans points on this, but hey if he gets it, he get it, most people will back him then I think.

I have to agree with this!
He was brought in and from looking across at the dugout week in week out Trollope was the vocal one instructing the players and organising while slade stands arms folded.
They were a team slade & Trollope.
If Trollope had anything about him he would have brought it to the table! When opposition made changes at half time we had no answer. We were too slow to adapt and make changes!
We need a complete change throughout not just a re shuffle!

What Baffles me is why Trollope wasn't offered the job in January. We could have then seen how he did in the role until the end of the season. I don't understand why the board persisted with the sh@t that Slade served up when they could have appointed Trollope on an interim basis until the end of the season.
If Trollope had done well his appointment could have been made permanent for next season. If its just the same old rubbish, then we could have got a new manager in for the new season.
By appointing the untested Trollope now, we are risking stuffing up next season and see our paltry crowds dwindle even further. Seems like madness to me.

We have to consider also who Trollope may be up against tactically, Chris hughton, possibly Rafa Benitez and I Beleive villa are touting moyes. Can he outwit the likes ? If not then top 6 can only be a realistic hopeful target. To win this league you need a plan c or d sometimes which is where old Russell failed.
