CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce that work is progressing on the new rail seating section at Celtic Park.

Monday 16th May 2016

The Club had worked tirelessly on this issue over a number of years and we were delighted that the appropriate permission was finally granted In June 2015, to proceed with the introduction of rail seating.

We are pleased now that work is proceeding on this new area and will be complete in time for the start of next season.

There has been a huge level of demand from our supporters to be part of this area for next season already and we are currently very busy in the season ticket renewal process for next season.
Celtic Chief Executive Peter Lawwell said: “The introduction of rail seating at Celtic Park represents a major investment by the Club in spectator safety.
“As we have said before, our primary objective will always be the safety and comfort of our supporters and this new system will now allow fans to stand safely at matches.
“Rail seating has been part of many football stadia across Europe for many years and we are sure its introduction at Celtic Park will be a very positive measure and one welcomed by our supporters.
“Celtic Park, I believe, is one of the world’s greatest sporting arenas. In recent years we have made a number of significant improvements in various areas and we now look ahead to leading the way and opening the new season with rail seating as a feature of the stadium.
“We have just celebrated our fifth consecutive league title victory and we hope to enjoy many more days like yesterday at Celtic Park.
“We are sure the introduction of ‘safe standing’ can only add to the atmosphere and our fans’ enjoyment of such days.”
