The Toffees sacked Roberto Martinez on Thursday, bringing an end to his three-year reign at the club, following a disappointing campaign in which they finished 11th in the Barclays Premier League.

JAMES OFFERED TO UNITED
Manchester United have been offered Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez, according to the Daily Star.
The 24-year-old has played a bit-part role at the Bernabeu since Zinedine Zidane’s appointment as head coach in January.
In fairness, the Colombia international struggled for a place in Rafa Benitez’s side prior to his sacking, as his influence following a stunning debut season slowly diminished.
As such, Real are willing to cash in on Rodriguez, who they signed following his eye-catching performances at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Star claims Los Blancos value the midfielder at £60m, meaning United would have to break the £59.7m British transfer record they paid for Angel di Maria.

Celtic legend glad that club have interviewed controversial manager and backs Malky Mackay
Date: 16th May 2016
Written by David Tully
Former Celtic player and manager Davie Hay is glad that the Bhoys have interviewed former Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic manager Malky Mackay about replacing Ronny Deila at Parkhead.
The Scottish Daily Mail has reported that Mackay had met with the Celtic hierarchy, and writing in his column for the Glasgow Evening Times Hay said he believes the text message controversy, where Mackay was discovered to have written and sent racist, homophobic and sexist messages to his head of recruitment, Iain Moody, whilst Cardiff manager, should not have a bearing on the club’s decision:
“I know there are some Hoops supporters who wouldn’t welcome Malky’s appointment, But he has great coaching and managerial experience at a high level and enjoyed success at Cardiff.”
“His time there ended in disappointment when he was sacked. His reputation, too, has been tarnished by the controversy over the text messages which he sent which were allegedly racist and sexist in their nature. I don’t know the full story about what went on at Cardiff, but I know Malky personally and I can tell you for a fact he is not that type of bloke. ”
“From a football perspective, he is a good manager and a coach. He did an exceptional job at Cardiff and I think he could do the same at Celtic.”

CHELSEA MUST KEEP TERRY
Antonio Conte’s transition to Premier League management will be easier if Chelsea retain John Terry, according to former Blues assistant Steve Clarke.
Terry, who has made more than 700 Chelsea appearances, is set to depart this summer but Clarke believes Conte would benefit from the club captain's presence for at least another season.
"John has been there so long, he understands the club and knows it inside out. He understands the passion of the supporters and it is just my personal opinion, but I think he would be a big help for the incoming manager," Clarke told Sky Sports News HQ.
