Paul Trollope now clear favourite to become Cardiff City boss as bookmakers slash odds on Saturday night
His odds have now been slashed to remarkable 1/6 on with SkyBet and 1/8 on with Bet Victor.

Liverpool are closing in on the signing of Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius, according to Bild.

The German newspaper do add that the deal isn't altogether straightforward though. The 22-year-old is thought to be waiting on Liverpool's fate next term before he puts pen to paper with the Merseyside club.

Karius wants to play European football next term if he is to move away from the Bundesliga.

Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham need to buy players this summer to compete in next season's Champions League.

Spurs are guaranteed their best finish of the Premier League era and will be runners-up to Leicester if they avoid defeat at relegated Newcastle on Sunday.

He certainly does,but to be fair to him he has put a few demands in.

It certainly won't get the fans excited and the crowds will be even lower than last season,which is bad,but I think he's slightly better than Slade.

I will support him,but its a cheap easy option,not ambitious at all.

ARSENAL LOOK TO SWANS' WILLIAMS

Gylfi Sigurdsson is not the only Swansea player in demand. The Sunday Express is reporting Arsenal will turn to Swans captain Ashley Williams to shore up their defence in the event Per Mertesacker is not offered a new deal at the end of the season.

The paper claims Arsene Wenger will have to part with £20m for the 31-year-old central defender, who has been at the Liberty Stadium for eight years.

ASHLEY WANTS RAFA STAY

After being relegated from the Premier League on Wednesday without kicking a ball, Newcastle face their next challenge: convincing Rafa Benitez to stay at St James Park.

The manager had a release clause in his contract allowing him to walk away from Tyneside if the Toon were relegated to the Championship but is reportedly interested in remaining at the helm to guide the back into the Premier League, The Independent reports.

Talks between him and owner Mike Ashley are due due to get under way following Newcastle's final game of the season against Spurs.

KOEMAN STAYING PUT

It looks like Everton will miss out on managerial target Ronald Koeman, the Mail on Sunday reports, as the Dutchman looks set to see out the remaining year on his contract at Southampton,

Koeman has been touted as a possible replacement for Roberto Martinez, who was sacked by the Goodison Park club last week, but is said to favour honouring the final 12 months of his contract.

As well as the Saints manager, Frank de Boer is in the frame for the job while Davd Moyes has been linked with a sensational return to his former club.
