Crystal Palace, West Ham and Swansea On Tail of Cardiff City Defender

Le 10 Sport

Friday May 13th

Crystal Palace, West Ham and Swansea City are all interested in Cardiff City defender Bruno Ecuele Manga, who has just a year remaining on his contract with the Bluebirds.

Manga has impressed since joining the Welsh outfit from French side Lorient in 2014 and his performances have now aroused the interest of three Premier League clubs.

According to French magazine Le 10 Sport, Crystal Palace, West Ham and Swansea are set to soon make proposals to sign Manga from Cardiff.

The player's agent admits that his client is attracting attention from elsewhere and claims it is no surprise given how well he has performed for the Championship outfit.

"All I can tell you is that Premier League clubs are in effect interested", Manga's agent Yvan Le Mee explained to the magazine.

"With what he showed at Cardiff for two years, it is logical that Bruno is attracting the interest of the world", he added.

The tough-tackling defender clocked up 26 appearances in all competitions for Cardiff this season, as the Bluebirds only narrowly missed out on booking a playoff spot in the Championship.

It remains to be seen whether Cardiff will agree to sell Manga this summer, but the centre-back only has a year remaining on his contract with the club.

Don't go to the JB's Bruno!

How about a swap with Palace - Bruno for Fraizer Campbell and Ledley?

Or a swap with West Ham for Tomkins and the Ginger Monster?

If the opportunity of playing in the Premiership came up you couldn't really knock him if he left, just as as we said about Marshall a season or two back, especially at a time of transition and uncertainty at Cardiff. Of course we'd want to keep all the players that are worth keeping but that's football I guess.
If he does go let's just hope it's good business and we get a quality player or two coming in.

Superb player but with 1 year on his contract then he has to go. Also he deserves his chance and has been a model professional.

Only 1 year left on his contract is our problem

He's probably not going to sign a new contract so we are basically in a no win situation

Can't see any option but to be sold unfortunately

West Ham would be a great move for him.

I'd love him to stay but as people have pointed out 1 year on his contact and someone we could get a fee for and reinvest hopefully.

Shame if he does leave tho.

He deserves a chance at a higher level. There are a number of Premier League teams in need of a centre half . Everton springs to mind. Been a pleasure having him but we could probably get a good Championship level centre half for half his wages.

If I were Tan I'd sell him to Swansea, give the moaning fuckers on here something to really moan about.

If he goes to the Jacks, he doesn't need to move home :bluebird:

He's better than anything the jacks have at centre back apart from Williams

One we can do without.
Saleable asset where we should be able to get a decent fee.

On big wages and only fit half the time.

Pity Turner was released .

I'd be happy with Connolly, Morrison, Oshilaja and Turner, but now if Manga goes we'll need a replacement.

I would have offered Turner a new contract on championship wages as probably on Premier ones. I thought he looked good against birmingham and as a defender in the peltier mold is top class. Agree at Bruno as probably in ridiculous wages. If we can get a few take it. Although clase on his day i wouldnt say he has been consistant this year and on occasions been poor especially when coming back from injury as doesnt seem to return hitting the ground running.

I would have been Happy with Turner Morrison connolly and oshilaja too but cant see the point in releasing Turner and selling bruno especially when dont even seem to have tried keepinv Turner

Manga has been inconsistent.

Superb at Bristol, awful at Sheff Weds

We need to get 3-4 big earners out to balance the books and need a few in to buy a decent striker..

Only players we could get a decent fee in for are Manga, Marshall and possibly Ralls + Pilkington.

Out of that lot I would want more to keep the other 3

Palace I see as being the most viable option of he goes because the other two clubs have both got about 4 centre halves each but Palace need to strengthen as they were in free fall towards the end of the season. But with only a year left I can definitely see Vincent Tan cashing in
