Over the past few weeks Swansea fans old and new have got behind the campaign to have the club remember Terry Coles who was tragically killed when he was trampled on by a police horse at Rotherham on what should have been a celebratory day for the club as it seen us lift the Division 3 title.
It has been awful that the club has chosen to forget about Terry and give his family the respect he deserves. Every year a small number of fans have tried to get the club to show the respect that should be there anyway from them.
In the past few weeks, with the events that ran up to the anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster and how we as a club would pay respect to the victims of Hillsborough and the justice which they deservedly got, more and more fans have voiced their opinion and disgust to the club, that is supposedly run by fans, that our own tragedy, which was at the hands of the same police force as the Hillsborough disaster, had been swept under the carpet by the club.
Swansea fans have shown in the past that our voices and opionions will not go unheard, from the ousting of Tony Petty to now this. The club have come back and have said that, with the overwhelming voice of the fans, they will write about Terry in this week's match day programme and will be looking towards a fixed memorial over the summer and before next season.
Maybe to some of us, this certainly isn't enough, and it may be 16 years to late for some. But this is certainly a start for the campaign for a memorial for Terry.
With all this in mind, we ask Swansea fans to stand up and show your support in the 16th minute towards the newly started campaign by his family to gain Justice For Terry Coles.
So this Sunday against Man City at 3.16pm please stand, clap, shout and show your support to TC.
No person should ever, ever go to football and never return.
