Looks like the job is his. Totally underwhelmed but nevertheless he will have my full support. :bluescarf:

Still clear favourite, although Rowberry is coming in sharply and we can expect Clement and Warnock's odds to shorten as stories of them meeting club staff at The Vale training ground abound ;)

Nobby, it looks like things are starting to become little clearer today

Paul Trollope appears to be leading the pack by some distance and is beginning to look the most likely candidate to take the helm for next season

Underwhelming? Hmmmm, let's see if it's confirmed first! ;) :ayatollah:

Can anyone explain what Paul does with Wales?

They've just got to the Euros and have been successful with only a handful of top players

Has Trollope had anything to do with this?

He also seemed to be praised by many City fans for making a difference when he came in.

Was this just Russell haters - or did he make a difference?

Now he gets potentially gets a chance - all of a sudden he isn't capable

Can someone explain please?

He did well for about 4 games, then it went back to the same old system :bluebird:

Was this down to Trollope?

Not having a go - I was a no 2 once (not football) and despite advice and planning, research etc, the boss made the calls.

Often throwing away support and suggestions etc

When he went, I took over and business was better -so the Directors thought)

Not saying Trollope is a genius but wanted to know why he is well thought of by some but not by us??

Wasn't Sean Dyche number 2 to Malky at Watford?

I think you are right on the money.I think the criticism of Trollop is wrong on the face of it.He never picked the side or decided on the formation and wasn't responsible for the timing of the subs etc.The success of a manager at one club doesn't mean he's gonna get it right at another. There are many examples of this including Malky Mackay who is seen as a hero by many at this club.I can't be arsed looking back through old posts but I seem to remember some people questioning whether Malky had the necessary experience to take this club forward at the time but he went on to justify his appointment as we all know though he doesn't enjoy the same legendary status at Wigan.Perhaps more importantly regarding this thread I don't remember Terry Burton getting the same crap on here as Trollope is getting yet he worked under a manager who in the eyes of many on here ultimately failed.

I think a top manager is worth splashing out money on. However a top manager would almost certainly demand money to spend. That's why I believe we will go for Trollope or an up and coming lower league man or perhaps a foreigner looking for a challenge in this country.

Prior to PT coming to the club, we were playing some of the worst football ever seen by a City team. Things improved when he was brought in. Things could improve again if he's the one making the decision. Who knows.
