" Can't believe some on here "

Thu May 12, 2016 10:19 am

Yes I can't believe some of the comments on here about our signing of immers
Most on here were saying not to long ago ,that immers should be signed as a priority ,after his performances last season ,

But we have just signed him
And all I'm reading is ,we should wait and see if the new manager would want him
What if the new manager doesn't take to him like us fans have
Someone said Well tan signs the players anyway
Must be Trollope taking over then
There is even a thread sticky headline concerns
Bloody hell what do you want ffs
The club can't seem to do anything right for some
Bloody hell this signing IMO shows our intent
Ffs get off the bloody negativity band wagon of last season and look forward
We can't change the past
But we can influence the future

Totally the opposite, I said in my original post that the fans wanted it, and im glad the club has got Immers.

My whole point is that we are buying players regardless or not if the fans want the player without the new managers consent.

How can the new manager have clarity on his position if the players are being bought without him knowing.

That is my point.

Steve, I couldn't agree more!

Great signing (one that the majority of fans wanted) and already looking for the negatives of him signing!

It's great to debate all things Dinas Caerdydd but this signing to most will be seen as the second most positive move (after the removal of the manager) by the club to date in this close season!

Welcome to Cardiff City FC, Lex Immers (and your family)! :bluebird: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Well hopefully we will get a head coach who can work with the squad we give him
Head coach should be able to get the best out of what he got ( we are not looking for a manager)
You say we are buying players
Who are these other players other than immers we have signed

Re: " Can't believe some on here "

Is Immers not replaceable with better? for £1-2mil on a 29 year old, a quality manager may surprise you what's out there. All money spent without the consent of a head coach surely means less opportunity for a head coach to get the players he wants/suggests to the committee. Doesn't that make the job harder for an incoming head coach to shape the squad as he sees fit?

You missing my WHOLE point, you need to read back and understand my point.

We have a vacancy for the managers/team coach position. my point being is although he wanted it, and the fans wanted it, the manager who did sign him is no longer in his position.

We are days away from an new appointment and we have most likely spent a chunk of what our transfer funds would be, on a player the new manager has not worked it.

Your last point is childish, yes we have only bought Immers, my point is the above and its a major issue for any new manager we try and interview. If you were a Warnock or Pearson, and you were told signings are out of your control, what are you to think? your tactics and the way you run your club is out of your hands because signings are dealt with by a transfer committee.

Please read posts first.

Firstly you didn't answer the question who are the others we have signed
Secondly how do you know it's £1-2 million ,the last I read the fee was unknown
29 year old is a good age for a goal scoring central mid player
Head coaches don't do all the signing of players they are in charge of coaching
They usually go to a transfer committee and ask for a type of player they would like

Hard to say who signed who as the club intentionally ambiguous in regards to transfers. The only time we are 100% sure is when signings are made without a head coach/manager employed! Ravel Morrison was signed without a manager last term.

The fee will never be disclosed, all we can agree upon is that it's unlikely to be cheap. He had a good season and Feyenoord were left in a good position to sell.

Agree, 29 is a good age. Not a problem. After 2-3 seasons we cannot get what we paid for him if offered on the TM, that is a fact.

Our head coach will be told the transfer budget is almost completely spent if he doesn't arrive soon :o :bluebird: :ayatollah:

Fantastic news as far as I'm concerned and well done to Ken Choo for moving so quickly to sign up a very good player. Whilst I hope we get the right manager going forward signing a player who made such a positive impact on the team is a massive statement of intent. I'd be amazed if the new manager, whoever that turns out to be, wouldn't be delighted to have such a player within the squad at his disposal.

This is a massive summer for our club in respect of the transfer market with so many players going into the final year of their contracts so moving so quickly to sign Immers will, in my opinion, help make the managers job more attractive.

If any new manager had concerns about signing this man I'd go as far as saying perhaps we should be looking at other candidates.

Already looking forward to the new season and watching Lex after he has had a full pre-season.

Stats don't lie, 5 goals in 15 appearances from an attacking midfielder. Good, proven signing that! I'm chuffed, love that he has shown loyalty and plays with heart.....keep them coming city!!!

Re: " Can't believe some on here "

Thu May 12, 2016 12:20 pm

Don't make the assumption that the perspective new manager has not been consulted!

Re: " Can't believe some on here "

Thu May 12, 2016 12:40 pm

And another thing is HE WANTS TO PLAY FOR CITY! f**k me how many journeymen and money grabbing bastards who can't be arsed to run for a ball 5 yards away have we had over the years. I'm really glad City have got in before other teams who were interested pinched him off us.

Welcome Lex.
One of our best 5 players

We need a quality core, the kids can be signed then

After the "Transfer embargo" thread was opened my first comment was Sign here please Mr Immers and if an incoming manager can't work with that guy then we don't want him.Its like saying how do you know the new guy will be able to work with Whitts? From what I've seen of Immers He would be welcome at most championship club including the 3 that have just come down.

Its not hard to understand people think a manager should be put in place before signing players for good money. I don't see why that is negative :?

But how the hell does it point to us appointing trollope!?... We would have done it regardless. And we're interviewing a few managers.

Man City have signed players before manager as been appointed !! point is any manager/coach worth is salt should be able to work with what's at his disposal when comes in.

The club done the right thing snapping him up so quickly regardless of who will be the manager. We would have all been moaning if the chance had passed.

Surely having good players, and Immers is certainly that, makes the club more attractive to a new manager ?

Proved his worth and will feature whoever becomes manager!
