Trollope

Uninspiring to say the least, this was the club's chance to bring the fans back but yet again they take the safe option. Remember when we were a club with ambition?

I'd be happy with Trollope. :ayatollah:

I think he'd do a good job but for now he's not what the club needs. The stabilising is done. Time to become Cardiff City again.

Slade, Trollope or Page?

Which one would be your preferred choice?

It would be Pearson but it seems we will be getting Trollope. :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Re: Trollope

I think he would be a good manager

But for me the fact is it wouldn't actually be a change to what we already have so currently at our club things probably would remind the same

We need fresh ideas not old school droll off trollope young etc etc

Re: Trollope

I will be gutted if this happens. I predict another mid table finish under trollope and another seaaon of piss poor crowds.

i agree this is the worst appointment they could make in my opinion, it'll make fans think we cant trust the board again to make the right decisions for the club to progress. what i dont get is why not just sell if he has no ambition

Odds on now Trollope

Re: Trollope

I would be stunned if it is Trollope, I cant see the club bothering to have a shortlist if this was the case

We need a new broom to get shot of the backroom as well

Young/Margetson etc etc

Just replacing Slade with Trollope makes no sense

No issue with Trollope staying in his current capacity

Scott Young though? As Katherine Jenkins would sing: "Time to say goodbye!"

what do you know exactly about how both do their jobs to come to this conclusion?

The players appear to praise Trollope's coaching skills and I don't see Marshall going backwards under the tutorage of Margetson

Scott Young apparently unsettled the squad when he was temporarily in charge. Several good players were castigated as a result and never played for the club again

Would they have made a difference? We'll never know but if changes need to be made then Young would appear to be the more expendable one

I'm happy to be enlightened on the subject though, if you know different though

Many others were unsettled during that period. The quality of coaching was poor and results showed that well into the Russell Slade tenure ;)

Sorry, I thought you knew something about Young's role that contradicted general opinion, including mine :?

Of course it's general opinion...based on information let out from within the club and you've yet to provide any view to the contrary on the subject other than a desire (over several threads this lunchtime) to pick people up on their comments/posts ;)

That's fine with me. I can respond in a considered manner and (as always) will take a step back if/when others provide contrary evidence to something I believe to be true :ayatollah:

The question that you need to think about is this, if it was to be Trollope why take this length of time to announce it

You are IMHO correct on that and personally I don't believe it will be Trollope but I don't have an issue with him staying on as a coach unless the new guy (whoever that is) is set against or, in the case of Bellamy, wants to bring in a Dutch Ray
