CLUB OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE...

Tue May 10, 2016 1:30 pm

Cardiff City confirmed the other day that the Football League had now lifted the transfer embargo we were placed under in January.

With financial issues more than coming to light in the January transfer window when plans to strengthen the side were disrupted owing to a technical breach that Cardiff made clear they felt was unfair - albeit unappealed - having announced Russell Slade's move to a Head of Football position from manager, the club have now confirmed the embargo has been lifted as well.

It was confirmed that the sanctions upon the club would cease to be following the game against Birmingham City last weekend.

A statement from Cardiff read:

'The Football League has confirmed that as of 2.30pm on Saturday, 7th May 2016, Cardiff City Football Club will no longer be under a Financial Fair Play embargo. The Club will therefore be able to operate without FFP restrictions during the forthcoming summer transfer window.'
