David Sullivan told Sky Sports News HQ: “We are hopefully going to bring one or two top players in. The Olympic Stadium gives us about £12m extra revenue a year, but not £100m.
“We put in a bid today for €30m for a player and other bids will be going in. We are going to make a £20m or £25m bid for a player in England this week. So whatever happens we’ll bring a top striker in.
“We’re not close enough to either one yet. But the transfers always appear first on my son Jack Sullivan’s Twitter account.
“It’s a statement of intent. We’ll spend between £30m-£50m on transfers this summer. But you’ve got to build it up gradually. You can’t compete with the likes of Man Utd overnight.
“We might have to put our own money in – we’ve done it before – but we hope we’re clever enough for the €30m bid.”

SCHNEIDERLIN NOT HAPPY AT UNITED
Morgan Schneiderlin has admitted he is "not happy" at Man Utd after a slow start to his Old Trafford career.
The Frenchman has struggled to hold down a first-team spot in Louis Van Gaal's side since joining from Southampton in last year's summer transfer window and concedes he has not found it easy to adapt to life in Manchester.
"I've done as the group has: some good and some less good matches. But it is sure that at Manchester United, everything is different," Scheniderlin told L'Equipe. "A good match in Southampton can be viewed as bad in Manchester.
"When I signed for Manchester, I wanted to play every game, be performing all the time, so I'm not totally satisfied. I'm not unhappy, I'm not happy, I'm in the middle.
"But this is my first year, I am confident that I will return very, very strong next season."

WOOTTON OUT?
Leeds United defender Scott Wootton is set to leave Elland Road this summer after it emerged that a contract extension handed to him last year was never finalised, according to the Yorkshire Post.
Reportedly, Wootton will be released on a free transfer when Leeds publish their retained list due to an unusual scenario which left a 12-month extension to his existing deal incomplete.
Wootton signed an agreement in February 2015 which would have tied him down until the end of next season.
The extension, negotiated at a time when owner Massimo Cellino was serving a Football League ban and Andrew Umbers was running the club as chairman, was formally announced on United’s official website but the club’s failure to complete the necessary paperwork will supposedly see them move the defender on.
