1. Our reporter Steve Tucker attended the Cardiff City Supporters’ Club end of season awards dinner on May 7 in a professional capacity after being given permission to cover the event
2. He approached Ken Choo for a brief interview as part of WalesOnline’s live coverage of the event. Mr Choo sat next to Steve and dictated answers to a few questions that were published onto a live blog as he was speaking. A story was then written from the quotes which had been published
3. Steve’s opening question to Mr Choo was as follows: “Was it a difficult decision to move Russell Slade upstairs?”
4. Mr Choo’s response was: “It was not a difficult decision to move Russell to the Head of Football role. Our position has always been clear, that whoever is manager or head coach should at a minimum take us to the play-offs. This squad cost £28 million to assemble. Vincent’s position is clear, any lower than the play-offs is a failure. He is not putting £30 million a year into the business to not succeed, any businessman would want to take this team into the Premier League.”

Both the SWE and Western Mail (WalesOnline) Treat CCFC like a circus. A local rag should be there to support the club not cause infighting.
Its embarrassing at times and with Steve and Chris writing football for them they wonder sales have plummeted in South Wales.

If that is not suggesting that Slade failed then I don't know what is.
If he is suggesting that they failed as a 'club' and not Slade per se then why the hell has he lost his job? Are we expecting the entire squad to be released and mass resignations from the tea lady to the kit man.

Agree with this , if the club failed in acheiving top 6 then that's surely a failure on Slades part as he is the managerharold pinta wrote:RV Casual wrote:Storm in a tea cup all this, there are some right drama queens about

It's all a bit pedantic. The club has stated the the aim was the top six. Russell Slades job was to achieve that. He didn't, ergo he failed in that ambition. That is an undisputable fact. I'm not their greatest fan but Tucker and the Echo have done nothing wrong at all here.

I like the way Ken Choo has been running things recently. But on this, he really needs to hold his hands up and say that he probably used the wrong choice of words. I'm sure no one will think any worse of him.

Every time Slade was asked he always used the phrase "aiming to be" or challenging for a top 6 spot" or words to that effect and to that end he did not fail.At no time did he actually categorically state that anything less would be a failure.I noted on these occasions that he chose his words very carefully.
