KEN CHOO(CEO) MAKES A STATEMENT & PUTS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

Ken Choo (CEO)statement this morning on 'failure' comment

Saturday’s article and Mr Tucker’s conduct disappoints me greatly

Monday 9th May 2016

Further to a Media Wales article that was published on Saturday evening, Executive Director & CEO Ken Choo has made the following comment.

“During an informal talk with Mr Tucker during the Supporters Club dinner on Saturday evening, I referenced the fact that we, as a Club, considered missing out on the top-six as a failure.

“At no stage was I asked for a formal interview and at no point did I say that Russell Slade has been a failure for our Football Club. I categorically refute the article leading supporters into thinking that this is my belief.

“My working relationship with Russell has always been good and shall continue to be now he has taken the role of Head of Football. Saturday’s article and Mr Tucker’s conduct disappoints me greatly.”

Glad the record has been put straight, surprised me that Ken Choo would have made these comments and shame on Tucker for the article.
Even though I am disappointed we didn't make the playoffs, Slade and the club have done a good job considering the issues and the limited budget. And I actually think Slade fits his new role really well and can't wait until next season.

I actually agree with this or at least the powers that be on here should think and vet anything he writes before copying it here.

He's a typical gutter journo, more interested in inventing news rather than reporting on it.I suppose if he comes across as anti-Slade it gives him more kudos with some fans.

Has anyone watched him online with Nathan Blake, he talks so much crap and Blakey takes the piss out of him half the time. When I read his match reports in the Echo I wonder if he was actually at the game because it is a different game to the one I see!

hes writing for a reaction from us fans.if there was a ban on here of his work it's not much people who would read his work and would probably stop him writing bollocks and start being abit more honest in his work

Tucker has always been a toss pot story making fraud... what's new

Re: KEN CHOO(CEO) MAKES A STATEMENT & PUTS THE RECORD STRAIG

Tucker has finally pissed on his chips with City and its fans with this pack of lies. He's not a fan and is not welcome at the club.

I note that Trinity Mirror is cutting staff which it has just done at South Wales Evening Post so Tucker may well have put himself under the spotlight with the blatant lies that he has written this time. This latest lazy sensationalist effort to shit-stir has blown up in his and Trinity Mirror/Wales Online's face resulting in even less credibility than they had before (if that's possible).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-sout ... s-36241144

He was always just masquerading as a City fan and his constant stream of uninformed speculative cheap shots at the club he is supposed to support will now hopefully be seen by his editors as a reason to finally get rid.

OK Tucker has taken what was said out of context and I won't defend him for that.

However, is Choo so naïve as to believe anything said to a journalist is not fair game whether it's in a formal interview or not?

Also KC did use the term 'failure'. I fully accept this wasn't used in a direct reference to RS but indirectly there is a definite connection as RS was the manager of the team that failed.

Mind you I actually would have admired him for being honest but that is irrelevant now.

It's a typical reporters trick.

CCFC failed, Slade is the manager, therefore Slade is a failure.

The fact that Choo meant the WHOLE club failed is ignored.

It's how you sensationalise a story.

I'm not a million miles away from agreeing but I do think if you use the word 'failure' then blame needs to be apportioned.

RS was removed from his position the same day as these comments were made. If it was the whole club taking responsibility then surely a board member would have gone as well?

It's time the club told his employer that he will no longer be admitted as a journalist and they should be told that another one needs to be sent if they wish to have a representative at a match. May I add not before time.

steves reply
1. Our reporter Steve Tucker attended the Cardiff City Supporters’ Club end of season awards dinner on May 7 in a professional capacity after being given permission to cover the event

2. He approached Ken Choo for a brief interview as part of WalesOnline’s live coverage of the event. Mr Choo sat next to Steve and dictated answers to a few questions that were published onto a live blog as he was speaking. A story was then written from the quotes which had been published

3. Steve’s opening question to Mr Choo was as follows: “Was it a difficult decision to move Russell Slade upstairs?”

4. Mr Choo’s response was: “It was not a difficult decision to move Russell to the Head of Football role. Our position has always been clear, that whoever is manager or head coach should at a minimum take us to the play-offs. This squad cost £28 million to assemble. Vincent’s position is clear, any lower than the play-offs is a failure. He is not putting £30 million a year into the business to not succeed, any businessman would want to take this team into the Premier League.”

I cant believe what a fuss this is generating, totally agree with Choo. good and honest answers

I don't think Steve Tucker can be blamed for this. As others have said, as a journalist he's simply done his job. Look at the material gifted to him by Choo. It has been a very naive move by Choo to make such comments that can be interpreted and manipulated so easily.

I think Choo knew what he was doing and trying to criticise Slade to win fan support and now it's come out negatively in the press he's going back on it and trying to weasel out of it.

Same here I think it is refreshing to have such honesty. Also think of the uproar if he had said that the club were happy with an 8th place finish?

Well said Mr choo, ban the dick head from the club. 8th place with what slade had to deal with was a good finish. BLUEBIRDS

Zabier I can see where you coming from but this ain't a Daily Mail reporter or Daily Mirror.. this is someone who works for a local tabloid within the club and for someone who claims to have interest and likes the club he has a funny way of showing it and mugs the club off continuously with stories like this.
