PELLE TO CHELSEA?

Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants Southampton striker Graziano Pelle to join him at Stamford Bridge and is willing to pay £8m, according to The Sun.

Conte has worked with Pelle as Italy national team boss, and is reportedly a big fan of the striker.

Pelle was left out of Southampton's squad to face Man City and Ronald Koeman raised concerns over his attitude in training, although the forward did return as a substitute in the victory over Tottenham.

GERRARD BACK AT ANFIELD?

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is confident he will return to the club "sooner rather than later".

The ex-Reds midfielder, who made over 700 appearances during a 17-year career at Anfield, is currently playing for Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy.

Speaking at a fans' question and answer session at LA Galaxy's stadium, he said: "I will be going home at some point.

"I don't want to start any unnecessary rumours. I'm really happy where I am at the moment. But I'm sure somewhere down the line I will represent Liverpool Football Club."

QPR RELEASE SEVEN

Clint Hill, Alejandro Faurlin, Robert Green, Armand Traore, Yun Suk-Young, Samba Diakite and Oscar Gobern are set to be released by QPR this summer when their contracts expire.
