Ken Choo believes and Says Russell Slade failed

It was not difficult. Our position is clear. whoever is manger or head coach should at minimum take us to the play-offs. £28million this squad cost. Not doing that is failure. Vincent’s position is clear, any lower than the play-offs is a failure.

It is not charity giving Slade head of football, there is a job there. It’s not sentiment, we don’t do charity, There’s a job to be done and we’ve briefed Russell. The job has started.

We are starting selection now. We are reviewing candidates. Maybe it will take a couple of weeks we do have a shortlist.

I'm predicting a foreign manager if it was Trollope they would of done it straight away.

" Ken Choo says Russell Slade failed as Cardiff City manager and reveals shortlist already drawn up for new boss "

By Steve Tucker

07/04/16

The Cardiff City CEO was attending the club's annual awards dinner

Cardiff City CEO Ken Choo has said Russell Slade's eighth place finish was a failure, and revealed a shortlist has already been drawn up for his replacement.

Crucially, he said that the nationality of the new man will not be important providing they are the right candidate.

In an interview with WalesOnline at the club's end of season awards dinner, Choo said: "It was not a difficult decision to move Russell to the Head of Football role. Our position has always been clear, that whoever is manger or head coach should at a minimum take us to the play-offs.

"This squad cost £28 million to assemble. Vincent's position is clear, any lower than the play-offs is a failure. He is not putting £30 million a year into the business to not succeed, any businessman would want to take this team to the Premier League.

On the hunt for a new boss, Choo said: "We are starting selection now. We are reviewing candidates. Maybe it will take a couple of weeks we do have a shortlist.

"There’s a shortlist but we are open to offers from others still, the nationality is not important as long as we get the right man."

Choo also defended the decision to retain Slade, insisting there is a job for him to do.

He said: "We don't do charity, there's a job to be done and we've briefed Russell. That job has started.

"Moving players out is worth millions and with an honest guy like Russell in charge that will be done properly."

If Slade has failed then why promote him? If this is the case he is being rewarded for quote "failure" - don't get it

I'm not a fan of slade at all but choo and his cronies should also admit they "failed" by appointing him in the first place
Tan and his cronies are slimy fuckers the lot of them.

Could they be looking at the managers of any of Tan's other clubs as a cheap option?

Anythings possible with the likes of Tan and Choo pulling the strings. No manager of any reputation will work with them.

Yes, I think a move for someone like that would pleasantly surprise a lot of people, it would show intent from the club and immediately elevate our status/expectation for next season

Nothing of substance coming out of the rumour mill at the moment and I'm not sure how legit or otherwise Wez's comment is

I guess time will tell and someone will have the "I told you so!" bragging rights! LOL

That might be quite close to the bone for some decision makers at the club

You have to wonder what's going on as it doesn't make much sense tbh

And there is the reality the period of austerity is far from over and the job has already started on moving players out. Marshall, Manga, Fabio, Le Fondre, Macheda , Ralls, Gunnarsonn, Noone in fact anyone and everyone.

The big question is who on earth are the club going to attract as the new "Head Coach" against this background.
