" IF WHAT SOME ARE SAYING/REPORTING ? "

That Trollope might take over as manager and as we know Russell Slade above him/over seeing him then surely nothing really would have changed? ?

Perhaps then we could bring in Bellamy as a new coach under Trollope's control? Or Troloppe could put together his own coaching team? It does seem a bit pointless to not bring someone in from outside.

He might of been held back with slade in front of him

It is the obvious thing to happen.

We will not get an experienced coach like a Warnock to work as a coach. He will not want someone with final say on the players bought, Slade will not want someone with more experience to undermine him and Tan will not want an outspoken coach.

On the flip side we will not get someone like Bellamy. Too outspoken and did more in the game as a player than Slade.

Things haven't changed with Slade upstairs. They will just get a coach like Slade who was just happy to be given the chance so will step into the structure and do as he is told.

Totally agree.

Trollope is part of the problem not the solution.

The whole approach needs to change with a new regime.

I am not a fan of Slade at all but I see absolutely no point in removing him as manager if he's going to be replaced by someone who is part of the current coaching set up.

Might as well put Scott Young in charge and we can all turn out the lights as we leave the stadium this afternoon.

Wasn't Slade Warnock's assistant at Notts County ? Or am I mistaken?

If so I think Warnock could be on his way !!

I'm sure I read that the new manager s not answerable to Russel slade .... so why the link ?... if it is trollope (which I hope it isnt) slade will have no bearing on it what so ever. ... and also he doest actually fit in with Ken choos quote of being the spark to take us to the next level ...just my opinion of course .

OGS & Slade were Tan appointments , this next stage will highlight whether or not he has learn't from his initial foray into football !

RS has come through difficult circumstances with a feather in his cap , I have never thought him to be the man to take us forward as realistic title/promo candidates, but he has steadied the ship , kept us in the Championship - his forte for me !

Tan's vision in this next step will be crucial , he has an opportunity to further heal or indeed reopen wounds !

I think if u all look back to before Trollope was brought in we were a total mess and he at leas brought a bit of stability to the team .so why not give him a chance to see what he can do on his own .hes a very highly regarded coach with WALES and true some coaches can't manage but it's worth a try .

I get the impression that Slade has been given this job as a kind of gesture of good will. I don't think it holds much power. I think it's mainly to keep an eye on transfer activity and spending. Tan trusts Slade so wants to keep him overseeing things but will want the new manager to bring in a fresh approach. I just think we should have given Slade the boot completely if he wasn't being kept on as manager.

I'm sort of with you on this Zabier.

I wouldn't have minded Slade getting another season but IF you are removing him as manager WHY move him upstairs if his contract is up? Just let him go.

This is what is niggling me. If they decided against letting him go then they must see him as of use in controlling budgets and therefore squads and therefore have an affect over how the coach works.

I think he's done a good job as a coach, and there was a period where we improved a lot after he came in.

But I don't think he's the right choice to be in charge.

If it was going to be Trollope surely no reason why it could not have been confirmed at the same time as Slade moving upstairs?

That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Yeah, I'm with you on that, as surely that would have been announced at the time.
I think the club recognise that a fresh approach is needed.

Having Trollope in charge may not be a bad idea given some of the names we've been linked with like Neil Lennon and Michael Appleton.

Whoever gets the job they will have a very short sell by date.

Anyone in the existing set up will be a disappointment to me, but I think you are right; any new guy is going to be on a hiding to nothing :(

I agree, we need fresh ideas I'm not sure what trollope would bring to the table but it's hard to say

I would like to see Trollope given a chance he did a good job at Bristol Rovers. :ayatollah:

Quite depressing reading some of these posts...hope you guys are wrong about appointing Trollope..experienced successful manager with a young passionate assistant..cumon it's screaming at. Us ...we can't f#ck this one up surely :bluebird:

I agree in that I don't think it will be Trollope. I am sure the club would have had a double announcement.

It's interesting that this announcement was made in the same week as Coleman asked the FAW for more money???

Coleman wanted £500k per year. I am sure Slade must be on more than £10k per week??

Just putting 2 + 2 = 5

I agree Trollope made a difference when he come in but it'll be underwhelming again if he is given control imo

If it was Trollope why wasn't announced the same time as the Slade
announcement

time to go Slade and Trollope

I do understand some fans would be disappointed if it was an in-house appt. We might see the team play a lot more positively with Trollope in charge, It could even be a good appt, we just don't know yet :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Actually I think if it was Trollope as he is already in the club would've been announced yesterday.

The only one going to lose out in all this will be Scott Young as I see Trollope staying on as a coach.
