" Thank you Russell "

Today the club made the right call in terms of making progress on the pitch. However, despite ultimately failing in our play off push, there can be no doubt that Russel Slade did a fantastic job as our manger.

He came in at a time where our club was sinking. He made some astute signings that will play a part in our :ayatollah: :bluebird: :sladein: first team next season and although that first season was not incredible, I felt that we were slowly making progress.

This season has been a step up completely. He has had no money to play with, been working for tan, had 10 k in the ground each week and still managed to put a play off run together. He has also (most importantly) helped bridge the gap between the club and the fans. The team has started playing for the badge and have given us some fantastic times this season.

So despite us not actually achieving anything under him, I think he has helped lay down the foundations for the next manager, whoever it may be.

THANK YOU RUSSELL :bluescarf:

I think Slade deserves better than a DOF role I think its just a way for him to hold out for another job.

He can go around with his head held high.
Whether he stays as our Alan Curtis or he goes when a club comes calling.

Thank you Russell

Honesty and hard work after having money spunked by the club for years.

We all have our own opinions Rydo but Slade's deserves what he's got and he's lucky to get that! Our club needs a spark to ignite it again. I couldn't stand another season of the boring football served up by Slade and his players! Well done to the club, so far anyway!

Slade deserves another job at Championship and I think he is just being put in the shop window.

Thought he did in second part of the season. I bet he is bitter.

Can't really complain. Even though the football was really poor at times. He's done exactly what he was brought in to do. Should be a good setup now for whoever the next manager is to come in if money is made available for players.

Great post James.

Slade has been judged using a number of parameters from the very subjective (he failed to make the play-offs) to the objective (see above)

I lean towards the objective and would also thank RS. As James pointed out probably the best thing to come out of his time as manager has been the healing of the wounds between club and fans following the rebrand and Premiership relegation.
