I'm a Labour Party member and have voted for them all my life and will continue to do so.

However, I am far from happy with the party at the moment and the sooner Jeremy Corbyn goes the better for everyone. The recent anti-Semitism was absolutely sicking and Ken Livingstone for one should be kicked out of the party. I also agree that under Corbyn Labour are losing touch with their traditional working class vote and UKIP are taking advantage.

I do think the Welsh Labour Party is a better role model and something similar at national level with Andy Burnham as leader would be a great place to start an electoral recovery.

Labour has to ditch the perceived identity of being in favour of mass immigration and supporters of middle eastern terrorists.

However, it's what they don't say which is the troubling thing. UKIP wish us out of Europe (& so do many Tories) not just because of immigration but because if we were out of Europe the Government could start to dismantle employment rights. Of course they would say they are only getting rid of red tape, but along with the red tape would go statutory maternity pay, holidays, employment tribunals and any kind of employee representation.

It wouldn't be long before pay was hit.

The problem for labour is since 1979 they are not sure what their purpose is. The rise of trade unions and organised labour since the turn of the 1900's reached its crescendo in the 1970's to a point when the British public voted to kill its power and over the next two tory terms did it wilt.

I remember the militant takeover (reminiscent to the Corbyn one), then the endless debates over CND, gay rights ect....None of these issues were real issues in the pubs and clubs of the UK, they lost touch,always looking inwardly. Whoever disagreed with the latest "popular" theory were racists,sexists,luddites. The sense of we know best has become so prevalent its turned to arrogance.

Blair dragged them back to the centre, a tory light, but the PC brigade were embedded, bigger & more government was the answer to all our problems. So we were taxed to post war levels for this privilege.

My come to Jesus moment was the baby P case. All we all probably can remember is the £130K head of social services being hounded out of her job by Andy Burnham (and winning her unfair dismissal case), why did we or in particular the media believe that paying more and more civil servants more and more money would make society better.....Sick people will always do sick things.

I was in the AEU until 1997 have voted labour until the end of Brown where i voted liberal but if I believe in smaller and less government and more personal accountability where should I cast my vote?
