Russell Slade take to recent criticism of him
Russell Slade :I don’t respond to that.
I was highly disappointed with result at Sheffield Wednesday. The players are highly disappointed. We went there with best intention. We lost some players in game and before.
We needed to be at our very best against a very good side. Up to an hour we’re still in it. A change meant we conceded and then conceded a second and it was all over.
Look at the bigger picture, have we made progress? Yes, but not enough.
We need a bit more. We have to learn to try to find that little bit more.

Slade reflects on the job he's done at Cardiff
We’ve made progress.
We were 16th or 17th when I arrived.
Given the club stability and that should not be underestimated in modern game.
Sometimes clubs go down two levels I ensured that was never going to happen here.
We’ve made progress despite the obstacles thrown in our way and I’ve worked hard and my staff to ensure we remained competitive.
We did that by taking it to penultimate game. It hurts not getting in top six. Whoever is manager must learn from that. Progress has been made, that’s a fact. The facts don’t lie.
We finished 11th last year, at least 8th this year so that’s progress.
But it’s not enough progress. We need to find a way.
We need to review and what we need to be doing to ensure we finish top six next season that’s number one on agenda

"I don't respond to that." It's because Slade doesn't agree with the criticism
Everyone should know by now Slade doesn't do self-analysis. Beneath the 'nice guy' persona is a very arrogant one if you look to expose it. He honestly believes he hasn't made any mistakes this season or during the run-in to the top 6.

Seems fair to me.

"Up to an hour we are still in it" if you think backs to the wall, creating absolutely nothing and not a shot at goal in an hour means we are still in it that is

It will be a MASSIVE blow if he is still in charge next season.
This Club needs a name right now, we need someone to unite the fans and show some passion to get the place going again.
The thought of him being in charge next season just pains me to be honest.
I am not Bellamy's biggest fan by any stretch but I have completely changed my mind, get him in if he is the only option we can afford and is willing to come in on a low wage, the way the season ended in those last 6 games just tells me that Russel Slade has reached his level.
1 win in 6, that play off place was there for the taking, threw it away.
