" 7th or 8th, Does it matter? "

If we lose Ipswich win, we will drop a place to 8th.

I just wonder what is the mindset is of our manager, the fans are not bothered by a demotion to 8th place surely? Ipswich have to win their game away to Derby County who can be considered to be one of the best Championship clubs in terms of their quality.

So what will Slade do with this in mind? It's my opinion this is nothing more than a training exercise game, and it should be an opportunity for some of our young fringe players to show the manager and the fans that they are ready to play for our club.

Slade is very loyal to his starting 11 so there is no guarantee he will use the game to have a look at other options for next season.

I also hope Slade doesn't try to protect a 7th place finish and is worried about perceptions of an 8th position being a worse season.

Over to you Slade, a word of warning though. If you continue to neglect young players in favour of some of our average journeyman players on a NOTHING game, don't expect a positive reaction to the line-up if we lose on Sat :thumbright:

not only that, some deserve to be dropped due to poor form/results over the last half dozen games

I agree, shouldn't make a difference. All I would say, is I want us to win every game and field our strongest possible side - whether the match counts for anything or not.

That's fair comment Ned, we have come to the last game with nothing to play for, I'm truly not bothered what the result is, just want a good performance and preferably a few new faces in the team. :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

I guess 8th would give next year's manager (Slade or otherwise) an easier target to improve on! ;) :laughing6:

It would be nice to end the season with a win, and get to 70 points. I hope that Russel Slade plays the strongest side available. What happens during the summer is another matter.

I think so better to finish with 70 than 67 I say.

He hasn't got any bottle and zero faith in our youth he proved this when he played tamas in the cup.

Yes, well remembered. Slade is wasting everyone's time and patience. The first time I thought sacking Slade has to happen was after Shrewsbury

If he didn't fancy Tamas, then why waste everyone's time in playing him and not concentrate on developing our youth players :?
