French clubs Rennes and Toulouse are believed to be interested in signing Cardiff City centre-back Bruno Ecuele Manga, according to WalesOnline.

They join Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth in the race to sign the 27-year old, with the Cherries boss believed to be considering a summer move for the centre-back.

Manga won player of the year in his first season at the club, but his 2015-16 campaign has been interrupted by injuries and illness, although he has still been impressive.

Rennes, one of the clubs believed to be interested in the Bluebird, are set to appoint Christian Gourcuff as manager, who previously worked with Manga at Lorient.

The centre-back previously indicated his desire to play in one of Europe’s big five leagues, and following Cardiff’s defeat to Sheffield Wednesday, they are out of the race for the final play-off spot.

Rennes are also chasing a Europa League spot, which will no doubt make them an attractive proposition to the Gabon international.

It has been a somewhat disappointing season for the Welsh club this season, having missed out on a coveted top six spot in the Championship, after losing to Sheffield Wednesday in their last fixture.
