Changes for Birmingham...

Mon May 02, 2016 8:47 pm

Will Saadi and any youth players get a chance Saturday?

My team

Gk Marshall

Def Tutonda Turner Connolly (malone if John & Fabio are still out)

Mid Lawrence o'keefe (Ralls or Gunnar if he's still out) Harris

Saadi up top with O'Sullivan just behind

Bench
zohore
Noone
Whitts
Healey
Kennedy
Manga
Moore

Cant see saadi playing. I think saadi like javi guerra is another quality striker outcasted by slade.

It would make sense to do that.

Declan John isn't out. He traveled to Hillsborough on Saturday as a member of the 20 strong group. He was sitting with Saadi (another who traveled but didn't make the 18) and other members of Cardiff staff in the Lower West Stand below the away fans. Neither of them looked too impressed with the match or with being squad 'spares'.

If ever there was an opportunity to experiment, this game is it...

Would boost the crowd (I'm currently thinking of not going) if they thought there was a point in going and there are number of players who could be given a chance, including Saadi (long overdue) and Kennedy

We had about 10 or so pointless games last season, to try new players or new formation and Slade pretty much stuck to the same team and of course the same formation.

I expect it to be the exact same team, or a predictable like for like swap.

Luke, sadly you are 100% correct on previous chances and I don't think things will change; hence the need to replace the manager in the summer

We'll likely get the same old platitudes before the game, e.g. "playing for pride" or "doing it for the fans" but the likelihood is that we will stay as we were and rely on one of our players pulling an occasional goal out of the hat, as well as the usual (often unappreciated) heroics from David Marshall

I think Birmingham will be motivated by their large and vocal travelling support and I don't see Russell Slade doing anything to help motivate the home crowd (latterly a task in itself)

I predict this team for Saturday

Marshall
Peltier
Malone
Bruno
Connolly
Noone
Whittingham
Gunnar or Dikgacoi
O'keefe
Pilks if fit, Lawrence if not
Zohore

Slade wouldn't know how to play a youth team player if one bit him on the arse.

Ideal opportunity to start the likes of Declan John, Saadi, Rhys Healy, Kadeem Harris, Tutonda etc and see what they can do with absolutely no pressure on them whatsoever.

Can't see Russ changing his colours though.
