Personally I believe we've lost our once great away support and I still think its thanks to the rebrand/red brigade/Tan etc

Gareth, Our away support this season has gone so bad,we are 19th out of 24 clubs, yet we are 7th in the Championship.

There's a number of reasons for poor support. Cost is one. For me and my boys Saturday would have cost close to £100 not including travel.

The Slade factor has put lots of fans off. This year I've done away games at Fulham, MK Dons, Brighton, Reading, Derby and Charlton plus 4 or 5 homes. I must have spent over £1000 doing so. In al the games I've seen the only one worth the money was Derby at home. The football served up has been poor and whilst Slade deserves credit for reducing costs and making us competitive we aren't pretty to watch.

The fixture list hasn't been overly kind. Middlesbrough and Leeds away on a Tuesday night is a joke and it's happened 2 years on the trot. Brentford was on a Tuesday this year. Last year we sold out this year it was 580.

Good post fella.I done £200 on Saturday on travel, tickets, food & booze it's getting to expensive

The expense is there for all in remote locations.

Norwich, Leeds, Plymouth and, (dare I say it?), Swaaaaanzeee. Distances travelled are prohibitive especially on a week day.

It's the home support that needs explaining. I wonder how many will turn up for the last game knowing that there is no hope of playoffs. We'll see.

It's interesting to note that no doubt we will have the usual debate about which club supports Wales more and we all know that there's a good showing from Cardiff. But that's far more expensive than travelling to Birmingham or Hull.

If supporters want to be there, money will be found. Always has, always will.

I agree with you both on many of these accounts, very very expensive. But other clubs still go away in massive numbers including Boro a very very poor area, so its more than just about money with Cardiff fans.

For once quite embarrassed looking at this, it's mentioned on here every week. It's a different generation of fans now and sad to see, but I still think the burnt bridge will take a while to be built again. But it will, all in time. :bluebird: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Stringfellow, fans are embarrassed but none of them want to admit it
