Now the seasons over (let's be honest)

Mon May 02, 2016 9:14 am

Our squad being good enough is total garbage

Our manager being good enough is total garbage

Winning the play offs was total garbage

Spending money next season total garbage thinking

Marshall whitts noone dikgicoi,Malone Lawrence, ameobi,as good enough this season (or next season )total garbage

Now the season has ended I can honestly say we are no where near ready for the premier league ,
And it will be a long time before we are
The wage bill must be addressed first ,the seven players mentioned above would have cost us over £150k a week plus manga and Fabio would be on £50 k a week between them that's a total of £200k a week or even more alarmingly £10 million a year

Can any one seriously believe we can/should be paying that kind of money

Next season I want anew young manager
He must be told his job is safe as long as we stay in the championship and bring in younger players who need us as much as we need them ,secondly to start using our own youngsters ,keep the likes of peltier pilks Connelly ralls and o keefe ,as examples to the younger ones ,bring in a couple of seasoned hard pros on realistic money ,and have a plan for our future .

I'm sure us fans would put up with stability for a couple of years if we could see that the club has a plan
A hard working pacy younger team would surely give us something to all get behind

The over paid under achieving players must be moved on if we are going to have a serious future going forward

But the biggest thing is we fans must be realistic regarding our spending

There's not much to argue with there. Even if we did make it to the Premiership again we don't have the quality /manager to even contemplate staying up.

Agree with most of that. I said before the season started that we had no chance of promotion, and that was based on the players we have as much as the manager. Some fans were talking of this squad being good enough for automatic promotion, and I said at the time that they were living in a fantasy world. Slade may be ok as far as keeping us in the Championship is concerned, but there is no way he will ever get this club promoted. Unfortunately, with the club's finances as they are, I don't think promotion will be on the agenda any time soon. I doubt that we will finish as high in the table next season compared to where we are now.

I don't agree 100% with your post but I would go along with 80% of it. The underlying message is correct, the club is in transition and just staying as a Championship club is the priority over next few years.

I love the bit about bringing the youngsters through and mixing them with the more committed and professional first teamers.

I have great doubts the majority of fans would put up with mid-table stability whilst this is done though. We as fans (I am no different) have a low tolerance threshold and as seen by this season anything below 6th position (at any stage of the season) would be considered a failure.

We would have droves of fans lining up to slag off the manager (whoever it may be) with the usual nonsense about being tactically naïve, being a dinosaur or inexperienced and a manager going through a purple patch elsewhere would get us promoted with a world record amount of points.

Tony the wage bill at present is still way too high
We have to trim
So get rid of the high earners and get what we can for them
They haven't exactly been that good this season anyway
I go home and away ,and the performances have been so inconsistent,I would not miss most of them

Just wish more fans could see what our wage bill is actually costing us
Then see who they want to keep and who they want rid of

Apart from David Marshall and Whitts I would not be bothered who left , we need a reboot

Moore is good enough
Marshall 31 now gets caught out from long range
Always seems to push the ball back out into the danger zone
His distribution is at best wayward
Cash in now before it's too late
Moore would cost half that Marshall is costing
Whitts has done nothing for the last two seasons
probably one of the top earners
