" RUSSELL SLADE’S SET PIECES "

Cardiff’s lack of creativity from open play, and over-reliance upon headers from set piece goals, has been an oft-quoted criticism of the Russell Slade reign.
Recently they have returned to the bad old ways, as such, but this time it could actually be a virtue.
There is plenty of talk about Cardiff going for it from the first whistle as they seek the win they need, but you simply can’t see any Slade side being gung-ho.
He will keep his team tight and organised, try to hit on the break and threaten at set pieces. It could well be scoreless going into the last quarter before Cardiff release the brakes.
Any Peter Whittingham free kick or corner will be a credible threat up at Hillsborough. Whittingham’s wicked delivery, Sean Morrison, 1-0. That would do nicely this time.
Sean Morrison demonstrates Cardiff's set-piece strength against Burnley earlier this season
