" Surprise team selection a must "

Our last chance warrants a surprise team selection
Sheffield will know our players and expected starting line up so let's give them that advantage ,especially as they only need a draw

If manga is fit ,how about picking a solid back four of
Peltier manga Morrison and Connelly
Dropping Malone as he has no end product going foreward and is weak defending ,would allow better players to get on the ball in positions that he would have
A mid field three of o keefe and ralls either side if dikgicoi,as we had against burnley away ( probably our best away performance this season) would give us energy bite and movement

I would set us up in a 4 3 2 1 formation

So hopefully immers is fit to take up a position along side pilkington just behind zohore up front
These three would defend from the front allowing ralls and o keefe to push up
As I believe when we drop back too deep we lose the plot
Subs need to be game changers
So Saadi noone ameobi and kadeem plus whitts Malone and Moore would be my choice
Don't think for one minute that we will see the above changes ,but I honestly believe we could do it with that set up

Would like to see the back four you've suggested, but would like to see Zahore and Immers up top. I know this might get howls of disapproval, but for this game only, i'd go route one, with Noone playing a "free role" picking up the knockdowns and having a go at goal from the edge of the box, like he was doing at Wolves.

Yeah we just need noone to get 75 shots off and one will rip the top corner!

I'm no Malone fan and prefer Fabio (or Declan John for that matter) at left back, but the Connelly experiment in that position was a disaster last time it was tried and wouldn't try it again.

However, I like your creative thinking and if we are to spring a surprise then RS has to be bold. Noone in a free role has been cry out for years. :ayatollah:

I know Malone had a poor game v. Bolton, but he has become the new fall guy. Looking at the highlights on Sky I was actually amazed at the number of astute passes he played in the second half. I honestly think he's better than Fabio , who has been destroyed by some wingers.

If he picks the same team/formation he has over the last few games we got no chance..

It worked in Feb/March because it took teams by surprise and players clicked ...now teams have worked us out again and we are quite easy to defend against

It's a huge game which we have got to win and we need something different or we are in trouble

Unfortunately our manager doesn't have the tactical nous and is also not brave enough to chance anything so it will be same team same performance and a 2-1 win for Wednesday

I really hope I'm wrong and I will be there cheering on the Bluebirds but I think it's going to be a big opportunity lost

It won't happen - Slade only has 2 tactics 4-4-2 and 4-4-1-1

Malone is great going forward admittedly.

What I don't like about him is he shit's out of tackles. It has happened a number of times this season and you have to suspect a player who does that.

Going forward he looks great ,but there is no end product ,he is clueless and inept once he gets near the box

Agree with dropping Malone but don't agree about Dikacoi. Can't be match fit and surely his mind is on where he's going to be next season. Agree with Ralls (providing fit) but we need to control the game and go for the win so I'd pick this team and formation
Marshall
Peltier. Manga. Morrisson. Connolly.

Whittingham. O'Keefe

Nooone. Immers. Pilkington

Zohore

Formation would have Pilkington tucked in as extra midfielder when they had the ball. I see your point but we need to win and my opinion is that PW COULD provide the spark we need (maybe a gamble but we must win).
All opinions though mate

I've said in previous threads what I think of Whitts and I 100 percent see his shortcomings (lack of pace, anonymity at times) but for a game we have to win, he'd always be in my side. I understand that as part of a 2 man midfield we'd be completely swamped with PW in the engine room, but with Immers and Pilks tucking back / in, the hope is that there'd be legs around to cover him.
