Bristol City midfielder Marlon Pack is reportedly being linked with a possible move away from Ashton Gate this summer.

According to an unconfirmed report by HITC Sport, the former Portsmouth and Cheltenham player is a target for Aston Villa, Cardiff City and Sheffield Wednesday.

Pack has enjoyed another outstanding season for the Robins, making 46 appearances in all competitions and establishing himself as a key member of the side.

Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City are said to be interested in making a move for Bristol City midfielder Marlon Pack according to reports in the Bristol Post.

The 25 year old Portsmouth born midfielder has been a dependable figure for Bristol City in their fight for Championship survival this season after becoming a virtual ever present player for The Robins.

Pack’s reliability and consistency has been admired by manager Lee Johnson with the player starting every game for The Robins’ new boss since his appointment in early February.

The midfielder has made 46 appearances for Bristol City so far this season and scored his only goal in last month’s 2-1 away success at Fulham. Pack’s good performances this season have not gone unnoticed and it has been reported that Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City have all identified the player as a potential summer target as they look to improve their squads ahead of next season.

Pack is contracted to Bristol City until summer 2017 and with The Robins set to undertake a huge rebuilding project at Ashton Gate over the summer it is unlikely that the player will be sold on the cheap.

City manager Lee Johnson has been promised significant funds to spend during the close season by chairman Steve Lansdown and there are quality arrivals expected at the club rather than any unwanted departures.

Cardiff City are interested in bringing Bristol City midfielder Marlon Pack to the Cardiff City Stadium, according to reports in the Bristol Post and HITC.

According to the reports, Cardiff are among three clubs in Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa who are keen to bring the 25-year-old to their club in the summer. Pack’s current deal with Bristol City runs until 2017.

Cardiff are currently unable to sign players for a fee due to the terms of their transfer embargo but the club are hopeful the embargo will be lifted in the summer.

Pack has been impressive in the Robin’s successful relegation battle this season and despite reports, it’s thought that manager Lee Johnson will be keen to keep one of his key players in the summer, with strengthening work of his own to do in the transfer market.

Johnson has been promised a war chest in the summer to strengthen Bristol City’s Championship status. Following the reconstruction of Ashton Gate, Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown is keen to strengthen the club from the inside-out.

Bristol’s talented midfielder, Marlon Pack, has missed just one Championship fixture this year with 46 appearances in all competitions for the Robins. Pack has just the one goal so far this season, an important goal on the road against Fulham last month.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been at Bristol City since 2013 when he signed for a fee of around £100,000 from Cheltenham Town. Since then, Pack has gone from strength-to-strength and his next league outing will be his 100th for the South-West-based club.

It’s understood that if Pack does leave Ashton Gate this summer then it will take a good sum of cash – Cardiff’s Severnside rivalry with Bristol City certainly won’t help their case if they do enter negotiations with the Portsmouth-born midfielder and his current club.

Yes we are. I remember Mehmet Dalman saying he expected us to exit the embargo 'easily' in March????

Our accounts showed a profit and VT has written off £64m of debt but apparently we fell foul of a technical breach which resulted in the embargo.

TBH I think it did us more good than bad but if we are at all interested in strengthening this summer the embargo would have to be lifted.

That said it is hard to see how in a 3 way fight including us Sheffield W and Aston Villa how we would come out on top.
