Charlton striker Tony Watt is unlikely to sign for Cardiff City on a permanent basis in the summer following a serious groin injury he picked up during a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers. The former Celtic striker will be sidelined for up to three months.
Watt has spent the second half of the season on loan at Championship strugglers Blackburn Rovers following an initial loan spell at Cardiff City. The 22-year-old has netted twice in seven appearances for Rovers but has now returned to parent club Charlton due to injury.
Cardiff were moments away from making Watt a permanent signing in January but after he passed his medical they were slapped with a transfer embargo which would prevent them from completing the signing and Charlton were keen to receive a loan fee, ruling an extended loan out.
