" SEAN MORRISON HAS HIS SAY "

Morrison maybe vastly experienced, with stints at Swindon and Reading behind him, but he insists it is the Bluebirds’ dressing room which is the most positive he has ever experienced.
Throughout the campaign many have written off Cardiff’s chances of finishing in the top six, with boss Russell Slade in particular regularly called into question, but Morrison said, amongst the players themselves, belief has never been a problem.
“The belief has never changed,” said Morrison.
“In terms of the group, the staff and the players, it’s one of the best I’ve ever been involved in. It’s just positive, running right through the camp, even after defeats and draws. Since the Fulham game, where we lost, we drew to QPR and we lost to Brentford you might expect us to be down in the dumps, but there’s been nothing but positivity because we know the chance is still there for us.
“We’ve got such a great group of players, both on and off the field, there’s never been doubts for us there.”
When it does come to doubts, Morrison could have been forgiven for having some himself during what has, at times, been a frustrating season on the personal front.

After starting the campaign by forging a good partnership with Matthew Connolly in the heart of defence, a knee injury picked up at Birmingham in December, rocked the centre-half. Out of the side, he could only watch as Bruno Manga stepped in to take the shirt for himself, but illness to Connolly and then Manga too has seen Morrison back in the starting XI. Although he admits it has been a challenging time for him.
“The injury was difficult to take because you build partnerships in the team,” said Morrison.
“That’s football though, that’s the competition I guess. I came back from injury, it was a long one, mentally a tough one to deal with. I had a few set-backs. But you come back stronger from injury. I had to wait for a chance because Bruno and Connors had done great while I was out, it was the same was when Bruno had to wait for his chance when me and Connors were playing.
“Unfortunately, Connors got ill and I stepped back in and then Bruno got ill. That’s life at a football club, you’ve got to have strength in numbers. You will never get promoted in a team relying on two players in a position, you need three or four strong players in each position. That shows throughout the whole of our squad.”

Have we signed a new player or have Sean Morrison and Scott Malone been involved in some sort of genetic experiment?
