French website RMC Sport are reporting that Liverpool centre back Mamadou Sakho have been provisionally suspended by the club for failing a drugs test for a fat burner.

Drugs in sport is a huge topic at the moment and sports such as athletics, cycling and tennis have been massively impacted and whilst there's long been question marks over football no big name players have tested positive.

According to the report the player took the substance unknowingly as part of a "purely personal and therapeutic interest.
