They will get £80 million for just being in the PL next season, plus the £110 million new investment, so they should have a bob or two to offer Brenda

Wez - You have to admire how Jenkins has been so successful, he's obviously a very clever and effective Chairman.

Not so succesful with his own business, but very succesful with other peoples money (council backing etc) when running the football club.

Wez you are wrong here, the original deal was £100m to buy 100% of the shares, and that would include money for players, it now seems that they are only going to buy 60% of the club, but the stadium is not up for sale as the council own it, what the investors have said is there will be money to increse the capacity there.

That is also not true. I have been following closely.

They are attempting to buy the club at £1m per 1% of the club. Which values the club at circa £100m. Originally it was for 75.1% but now after the trust raised concerns it looks to now be for 60%. So it will be a £60m transaction. ALL of that will be for the directors that sell their shares. That part is simply a share sale, not an investment.

Secondly, the Liberty will be bought from the council and expanded. The current owners and the council have been locked in discussions for quite some time with the cost looking to be £50m for purchase and expansion, hence why the directors stalled on the green light for it and felt now is the time to get investors on board as they could not pay for that and maintain a quality of squad to retain PL status.

So the Americans will be 60% majority shareholders with Huw Jenkins, Martin Morgan and the Supporters Trust being the other share holders. As a condition of sale the Americans will then invest £50m of their money into the purchase and expansion of the Liberty.

So a right time to sell, but they are certainly selling to venture capitalists looking at their history. Whether that will end up being a good thing is hard to say at this stage.
