City lose to Brentford and Wednesday draw with MK Dons.
Gap has widened to 6 points.

We really have to rely on Wed slipping up and we play with strikers we might actually take advantage.

We have to win all three remaining games and Wednesday have to lose all three. Not going to happen.

They can draw two as long as one is not against us and we win all three then we finish higher.
Unlikely though.

Agree - but technically Sheffield Wed can loose 2 and draw one and we could still go up BUT you are right. It won't happen.
However....imagine if RS had gone for it and won tonight. Surely it was a risk worth taking for 30mins!!!
MK Dons did us favour and RS did not have the technical nous (or balls) to go for it!!!
Still can't believe it really. It could have been game on!
We might have been 3 behind with a game against them to come.no blaming Tan tonight(!) It was RSs call.

Derby beat Sheffield on Sat lunchtime then we beat Bolton.
We then go to Hillsborough having to win.
That will take it to the final game where we have to better Sheffield result. (Matching their result won't be enough cos of goals difference)
Not as impossible as it may seem.

87/88 season two games left we were 6 points behind Leyton Orient for the last play off place. They lost their last 2 games, we won ours, and went on to win the play offs. Just saying like.

Could do with some encouragement.

Nothing is a given in football Ryds, not even after the fat lady has sung!

To be fair, we don't deserve to go up this season. We are 20 points behind the third placed team. The play offs are a lottery, and I know anything could happen, but it makes a mockery of the game when a team can finish 20 points in front of a side and still lose out to them when it comes to being promoted to the PL. I don't suppose the supporters of the side that finishes in 6th spot are going to complain though.

I'm still hopeful about the possibility because it still is.

Slade reverted to type when the pressure came on.
He adopted a cautious approach when we should be going out and winning games.
Forget the "we haven't got a striker" argument. That didn't stop us at Wolves, or against Brighton. Even against Leeds we created more chances in half an hour with ten man than we have in the last 2 or 3 games.
Slade made a decent season out of a crisis but on the the evidence of the key games and his previous career he will not take us any further.
Time for a calm, considered, change in manager whilst the mood is relatively positive.

There is an argument that the Wolves/Brighton victories were down to catching both sides cold with new tactics/players playing upfront. All clubs now send scouts to watch team's they are about to play and it wouldn't have taken much to spot that the offside trap was the best way to nullify AP, hence the lack of penetration later on.
A decent striker scoring 15-20 goals would have made a huge difference to our season and would have placed us comfortably in the play-off positions. Unfortunately at the start of this season we had 5 strikers none of whom were going to get anywhere near that amount of goals and the problem has hampered us all season.
I agree it is time for a calm considered decision to be made. If I were Ken Choo I would give Slade another season but also state that I would expect him to correct this seasons short comings and to pick the best side, which means he has to stand up to those in the dressing room who believe they have a right to play.

Sheff Wed will lose at Derby in the early K.O (2 - 0). City will beat Bolton (2-0) to go 3 points behind them. City will then go to Shef and win (1-0 ) drawing level on points. City will win at home to Birmingham (2-1) and Sheff will bottle it at Wolves and slip up (1-1). Can see it now

that is only scenario that can make it happen! clutching at straws but very plausable about wednesday, but extremely unlikely with us
