10 man/9 man cardiff team

Mon Apr 18, 2016 9:23 pm

That is what we might aswell be with whitts and pilks in their current positions like saturdays game.

Whittingham very rarely crosses into the box from open play in left midfield because he cant beat a man and is way to slow dribbling and on the ball. And whenever he gets the ball he just passes it sideways or passes it back to malone. Pointless having whitts on left midfield same as centre midfield we might aswell be playing with 10 men, possibly 9 men if you add in pilkingtons displays upfront trying to be a striker which he is not, drifts out wide and looks decent there surprise surprise cos hes a winger, dosent get himself in the box enough for scoring opportunities and when he does he isnt clinical enough anyway, just runs about like a headless chicken with not much effect imo, hes a good winger not a good striker.

I hope we see a few changes tomorrow... the obvious one would be to put pilkington on the wing to replace whitts and put zohore upfront who agrees? But russ dosent do the obvious dose he

I haven't seen enough of Zohore to think he is the answer, and I wouldn't drop Whitts before I dropped Noone

Zohore yes we aint seen a lot of him but he has been decent and looks more like scoring than pilkington, and come on now mate what has pilkington actually done to make a goal threat for games and games now, hes done nothing, we got nothing to lose in giving zohore a good run out imo. And fair point on noone he aint done a lot, but for me lawrence has done well on the wing and i struggle to see why uncle fester is playing noone and whitts instead of him on the wing, more poor management by slade imo. Lawrence and pilkington would be by wingers of choice right now.

Agree Pilkington is becoming a joke upfront.

What's all this winger crap
We don't need wingers to put crosses in to no one
We need to play 4 3 2 1
That is 443 when attacking
Put o keefe gunnerson ralls in the middle
Pilks and immers , just behind zohore and we have movement ,pace.and muscle
The front three would defend from the front
Malone over lapping
Ralls o keefe joining attacks as would gunnerson when we are attacking
That team also has enough in defence when we don't have the ball

High pressing from Immers and Pilkington is 1 of the reasons we went on a good run to get in the position we are now, taking Pilkington out for Zohore will mean we lose that.

Is pilkington the answer long term? No
Is Zohore ready for regular football? I don't think so yet, don't think I've seen him actually connect with the ball properly yet.

Agree about Lawrence, he should've come on Saturday because of his directness and ability to take a man on, something Whitts and Noone can't/don't do.

Pilkington and Immers are our best options upfront IMO but it's an area that needs improving in the summer, whichever league we are in.

All about opinions but i disagree with what you say and for me our good performances were down to the team as a whole and the hard work of the new additions of ralls okeefe and immers working hard, you are basically saying pilkington turned the team around because of his pressing from the front, well in that case we could play okeefe as a striker and get the same results cos both would work hard and press from the front. Like i said difference of opinions just dont agree with what your saying

It was coming imo. Just too little too late from slade unfortunately.
