' 12 Points For Cardiff To Play For '

(17/4/16)

Cardiff City have only 12 points left to play for in this year's battle for Championship promotion.

With the games dwindling down now at the real business end of the campaign as we find ourselves already through the first few April scheduled games, it's still all to play for for Cardiff City and this is the run in we face.

Cardiff:
Brentford Apr 19 A
Bolton Apr 23 H
Sheffield Wednesday Apr 30 A
Birmingham May 7 H

Whether it'll go down to the wire, or be confirmed ahead of time, here are the respective run in's for the other sides seriously rivalling those valuable final spots.

Burnley:
Middlesbrough Apr 19 H
Preston Apr 22 A
QPR May 2 H
Charlton May 7 A

Middlesbrough:
Burnley Apr 19 A
Ipswich Apr 23 H
Birmingham Apr 29 A
Brighton May 7 H

Brighton:
QPR Apr 19 H
Charlton Apr 23 A
Derby May 2 H
Middlesbrough May 7 A

Hull:
Reading Apr 19 H
Leeds Apr 23 H
Brentford Apr 26 H
Bolton Apr 30 A
Rotherham May 7 H

Sheffield Wednesday:
MK Dons Apr 19 H
Derby Apr 23 A
Cardiff Apr 30 H
Wolves May 7 A

Derby:
Bristol City Apr 19 A
Sheffield Wednesday Apr 23 H
Brighton May 2 A
Ipswich May 7 H

With only four games remaining in the 2015-16 season, Cardiff have no hopes of the automatic promotion spots with Brighton sat in third place in the Championship table on 81 points, but despite recent hiccups only being five points shy of Sheffield Wednesday in sixth place, well the Play Off dream is still alive if we can get the results to make the Wednesday match on April 30 count.

I have been grasping at straws all season and will continue until there are none left to grasp! :bluescarf:

I'm still optimistic.

I can see it now, as we're battering Brentford Tuesday night, news filters through of Alex Revell completing his hat trick to sink Wednesday at home. Remeber, mk dons are fighting for their championship survival. And we know that thise teams at the bottom are far more dangerous than the inconsistent few at the top.

We are still there, and more together than we have been in years!!!

Ha, am exactly same. My biggest straw is that it's the championship, take a game for granted and you have had it. Just look at Shef weds last two games. Anything can happen which is why you focus on your own results as something will always happen elsewhere.

Just suppose we get 4 wins that requires us to score at least 4 goals one in each match, who do you think is going to do that in light of Slade's inability to select a striker in the starting line up

They've blown it, Sheffield Wednesday showed weakness on the last two games and we couldn't even beat their poor performance, four points and we would have had a chance but we were shit yesterday and blew it with one point from two games.

Sheffield Wednesday are on a poor run but they are six points clear if you include goal difference, the players had their chance and they've blown it.

We are missing a a striker, you can't expect to hit the playoffs with no strikers at all !

If we had a Chopra Earnie or McCormack we would have finished top three easiliy.

Still a good team to build on next season with probably the best midfield, Centerhalfs and Keeper in the League, just strengthen in the other areas and we should be pretty strong next season .........

Back in 2008-09 we were 11 points ahead of Preston with 4 games to go but whilst they won all 4 of their remaining matches we, in true Dave Jones capitulation fashion, managed only 1 point from our 4 remaining games and the rest is history.

We are just 5 points behind Sheffield Wednesday so anything is still possible but as Sir Alex would say there will be thousands of squeaky bums at Hillsborough on the 30th April.

There's more chance of me having a threesome with Kylie Minogue and Kelly Brook than there is of us winning four games in a row.

Love your positivity, and while we have a strong squad in parts, with no recognised striker, where will the goals come from???

I think unfortunately the dream will be over by then, and if you goal difference effectively makes it six points behind.....

Would love it to go to last game, I'm just glad we are at the right end of the table after everything. Slade should be given a 12 month contract, however seeing what warnock is doing at Rotherham makes me wonder?
