Well, late drama at the CCS. Cardiff had a succession of chances as they piled the pressure on in the final stages. Somehow, they couldn’t find a way past Matt Ingram. Not the most scintillating performance from the Bluebirds.
They tested Ingram late on but needed to draw him into action more frequently. Slade will take the positives from another solid defensive effort from the back four and goalkeeper. The only consolation is that Sheffield Wednesday were held to a draw. Cardiff’s play-off hopes have certainly taken a dent but with the sides due to play each other in a couple of week’s time, they’ll continue fighting until it’s mathematically impossible.
They almost did it...
Well, Cardiff looked like they had snatched it. The ball finds Zohore with a clear view of goal. He strikes the ball underneath Matt Ingram but the ball is cleared off the line before Ameobi’s shot from outside the box flies over the bar.
