Recall Fabio?

By Phil Smith

The right-back's red card at Leeds could not have come at a worse time, just a week after that astonishing strike to give his team the lead against Middlesbrough.

The Brazilian has not featured since then, thanks mainly to the faultless showings of Lee Peltier in his absence.

The former Huddersfield man has been part of a defence that has performed impressively against some eye-catching forward lines, and would be well deserving of an extended run in the side.

But Fabio's dynamism and willingness to bomb forward could be more than useful in trying to break down the QPR defence.

It is a question of whether Slade trusts him enough not to make the kind of error that could cost his team.

The other alternative would be to bring him back on the left, a move that would sideline Scott Malone, who had a decent game in the capital last weekend.

For me Fabio flatters to deceive. He's like Marmite. I can see him moving on this Summer.

Defensively we are stronger with Peltier. As Fabio can play at right or left back, he is too useful on the bench. Don't know how much money he is on, but he is a bit of a luxury and I can see him moving on in the summer.

use him as a winger, simple. it was his natural position before Fergie decided to play him defensively.
