West Ham will pay £2.5m a year to rent the Olympic Stadium, it has been revealed after the deal was made public following a legal battle.
The ground's owners, the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), fought a ruling that the contract should be published, but the appeal was rejected this week.
West Ham will pay the sum per year over the 99-year lease, the 207-page document has revealed.
The Hammers move in this summer.
The first £4m of any naming rights deal will go to the LLDC and Newham borough, with anything above that between the two bodies and West Ham.
The LLDC, which had spent thousands of pounds fighting the ruling, said the decision could cost the organisation "millions of pounds".
But it has decided not to appeal against the tribunal's ruling.
The club were awarded tenancy of the London 2012 stadium in 2013, and at least £272m has been spent to convert the site for use as a Premier League ground.
West Ham have contributed £15m towards those costs. Last year a BBC documentary revealed the club was having many of the running costs of the stadium paid for it by the taxpayer under the terms of the tenancy agreement.
A coalition of 14 supporters' trusts from around the country submitted a Freedom of Information request to obtain that tenancy agreement and believe that the deal gives West Ham, who have played at Upton Park since 1904, a competitive advantage.

They are not the first to dump a stadium bill on taxpayers, those Jack B's have been doing it for years.

Olympics is a big swindle, taxpayers paid half a billion pounds for that stadium

for a bunch of ethically questionable athletes to run around, jump over poles and throw sticks.
The madness has to end. It's about sport, not swindling the taxpayers and private companies/association members getting richer

£2.5m a year is dirt cheap to rent a stadium that size!! They take that in 1 match.

Got to put it into perspective, The stadium is a marvel, used in the Olympics and the Rugby World cup really successfully, and now West ham will rent it, it will be used for other events too, when you consider Wembley and Principality stadiums don't have a team using them regularly, it makes sense.
Also look at state built stadia in Qatar where 100s of people have died building them, only one person died in the building of the Olympic Stadium and that was a suicide.

The amount West Ham pay goes up depending on the position they finish in the league on top of the £2.5m. Plus cup games are extra.
http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36047809Also, in my opinion it's better that the stadium be used than mothballed like most other Olympic venues, this presents much better value for the taxpayer than just having it empty and being used 1 or 2 times a year, plus WH only going to use the stadium 25-35 times a year, and the ground is available for the owners to use and host events. This is the most suitable use for the stadium.
