' Tom Lawrence as the main striker? '

By Phil Smith

11th April 2016

Fulham v City (Tom Lawrence)

With Lex Immers often running beyond the defence and always alive to second balls in the box, Anthony Pilkington has shown that a conventional front man isn't a total necessity for this Cardiff team.

And so Slade went for the obvious option when replacing the Irish international, picking the youngster who initially played through the middle after signing in January.

Zohore is still waiting for his first Cardiff start

He just couldn't quite catch a break in the box, often dribbling into promising positions in the box but losing out to the Fulham defence.

Struggled to get in the game in the second 45 as the Cottagers moved higher up the pitch, and a bigger physical presence might have been a better option.

VERDICT: His bravery in running at defenders should be encouraged, but after a great cameo at Turf Moor, this was as good a time as any to get a better look at Zohore

He had a good game against burnley again on the wing where he looks effective and does well, yet slade moves him next game up top where he has always been ineffective.

This coupled with dropping okeefe one of our top performers recently.

SLADE WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

He is a 433 wide forward. In a good team playing the system he'll score between 8~ 12 goals a season, but he is not a striker.

He is a championship version of Bellers.

Nit for me through the middle. Far better out wide the sooner slade sees this the better but he seems to see things about 4 weeks later than everyone else!
