No I don't mean players who only have one foot but players who can only USE one foot!
A few seasons ago we had a team where there were a number of players who could only use one foot. Ledley, Whittingham and the worst culprit of all, Mcphail, could only play the ball with their left foot. Their right foot was good for nothing other than standing on.
If Mcphail had the ball at his right foot he would spin and swivel around until he got the ball on his left foot before he could make a pass!
We have a similar problem now - Noone, Whittingham (still!), Ralls and Malone are completely incapable of using their right foot to pass, shoot or control the ball.
As professional sportsmen, surely they should be constantly trying to work on the weaknesses in their game, and one of the things they should be trying to do is to become almost as strong with their weaker foot as with their stronger one.
Malone did well to get through on goal yesterday but instead of shooting with his right foot he went to the left to get the ball on his left foot, thus reducing the angle he had and blasting over.
Surprised that footballers who are almost at the top of their profession are not proficient or at least capable of using both feet to a certain standard.
