I'm not usually one for doing things like this but it will only take 5 minutes of your time and could potentially save a mans life.
Frank is a gentleman I work with and has a heart condition and was admitted to the Heath several months ago for testing as he was suffering from arrhythmias, and extreme fatigue. His pacemaker was frequently shocking his heart and he has been suffering from ventricular storms and fainting.
He was sent from the Heath hospital to Queen Elizabeth hospital as the Cardiff surgeons recommended a LVAD pump. Earle Yearwood (Frank) was told he would be better off with heart transplant and was put on priority waiting list in Feb 2016. Then after various tests and procedures he was told the pressure in his lungs and heart was too high so a new heart would fail but he would benefit from the pump because that would help the pressure in his lungs.
He has since been told the Welsh commissioners were refusing to pay for both operations so he was promptly sent back to the Heath, his consultant at the Heath has been campaigning on his behalf to get funding.
Frank will die if he does not get the treatment he needs, if he was in England it appears he would have had what was recommended but, the Welsh Health commissioners are not willing to pay the bills. He has been paying into the NHS for all of his life and now when he needs help, it appears it is not there.

I have just been informed that at the 3rd time of asking they have approved Franks operation. I'm not sure whether the welsh health commission would have come to this decision without the campaign by his family.
