THE TORTUOUS SEASON THAT 2015-16 HAS BECOME

Wed Apr 06, 2016 5:46 pm

While few would argue that managing Cardiff City FC under the Tan regime has been easy I simply seek to put the previous months into some sort of context. That City are within touching distance of the play-offs is more than I would have dreamt of so for that I thank Mr Slade. However, if we fail, failure must be laid firmly at the door of the present manager. Time prevents me from looking at the doubly lop sided 442 / 4411 adopted this season but a glance at the results below will show tactical immaturity to overcome teams we should have won and winning leads we never should have lost.

The first six games surrendered 14 points:

Rotherham (21st) 2-1 City
City 0-0 Bristol C (19th)
MK Dons (22nd) 2-1 City
City 2-2 Rotherham (20th)
City 0-0 MK Dons (22nd)
Charlton (23rd) 0-0 City

The following two games showed a complete inability to win a game in which we were leading:

City 2-2 Burnley (1st) [when 2-0 up]
City 2-2 Sheff W (5th) [when 2-0 up]

Where would we have been if only half of those lost points were safely tucked in the bag? Where would we have been if those 18 points had not been frittered away?

Slade, for an untried manager at this level has got us higher up the league than I thought and for that I thank him; but equally in the cold light of day his inexperience at this level may well cost us dear.

Guess we should have gone unbeaten all season? Ffs every team lose draw or win games they shouldn't have, its the part that makes football the unpredictable game it is

You say we should of beaten the bottom teams etc

Does that make you think when we beat the top teams we should minus the points from them, same thing in reverse

It's not easy to beat any team in this league no one has any right to say if we beat these we would have had more points ? No shit

How can slade cost us dear even though he's done Much better than what most expected ?

My opinion is If Russell Slade gets a new contract in the Summer it will be more of the same next season
