Jose Mourinho reportedly wants a “written promise” from Manchester United that he will be their next manager.
The Sun claims there is already a verbal assurance, but Mourinho wants the offer in writing so he can start planning for the future at Old Trafford.
Apparently there is a “split at board level over the appointment of Mourinho” but United’s owners are keen on the former Chelsea boss.

A few Manure fans I know are adamant that the decision hinges on two things
1. The FA Cup replay result... if Manure wins the FA Cup it Van Gaal stays... if knocked out by West Ham, he is gone at end of season...
2. Whether Mourinho is willing to work with Giggs etc as his backroom staff? A lot of talk that Giggs has a lot to do with tactics etc and would Jose work in such a team dynamic with Giggs?
If Van Gaal stays and sees out his contract a couple of quid on a certain diving German, who works a lot in the USA, taking over is worth a punt...
